Lo is still on formula because she is having a bad reactio to wcm. We are goi mm g to reintroduce next week but I wonder should she have her sippy only at meals?
My LO (12 months) gets milk with breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner, about 4-6 oz each. She's still transitioning from BM to WCM so it's a mix. I'm a FTM so I follow the guidance of her daycare for a lot of the schedule stuff, and this is what they do. They said when she's full WCM it's 4 oz with each meal and of course water throughout the day.
We actually just left the pedi for a well baby check today and the paperwork she gave me specifically states not to give milk as part of/with a meal because they will fill up on milk and not food. DD has milk when she first wakes, then around 4-5pm then before bed at 730.
We give milk with meals and he can have as much water as he would like throughout the rest of the day. We've never had a problem with him filling up on milk and not eating his food but I can see where that could be an issue for other kids.

This exactly. It's really up to you - you are the mom! If you want to give a sippy of milk with meals, then do that. We give a sippy of milk when he wakes up in the morning, breakfast, lunch and dinner. About 4oz each time - sometimes at dinner he asks for more which I'm happy to oblige if he has eaten a decent dinner.
Thanks for the suggestions. We have been doing milk in the morning, lunch, and with dinner/bed. We still have to do formula until the pedi gives us the go ahead to go ahead to try wcm again. I was just wondering others thoughts is all. Of course she always has a sippy of water at her disposal all day long.
We are on coconut milk as DD has a milk allergy. We give it when she wakes, before her afternoon nap to wind down and then after dinner like 30-60 min before bed.
At 12 months, LO was getting 4 bottles of milk (20 oz) and they were all separate from meal times, otherwise he wouldn't eat. He got his first bottle (6 oz) and then 1/2 hr later he got breakfast. Then for late morning snack he got another bottle (4 oz) and then get lunch about an hour later. His third bottle (4 oz) was with his afternoon snack and it was the only one with which I gave him more food (other snacks). Last bottle was at bedtime, about 2 hrs after dinner (6 oz).
He now only gets 16 oz of milk split into 3 bottles. We took out one of the snack bottles and he now has his last bottle about an hour before bed.

I give milk at all meals, water is available in a cup for her all day to carry. We do Almond Milk. Even with offering it at every meal she doesn't drink too much, about 10-12oz a day so filling up on it is not an issue here.
