Feeling like the worst friend ever :-(

Okay, some of this may be irrational, but here goes...

I had plans on Veteran's Day to visit my BFF who had twins. I was originally going to bring DS with me. Sunday he had a bit of a runny nose (clear) and a little cough. It seemed these were more teething related rather than cold related. He had no fever, was eating and sleeping fine, super active and happy, etc. Still, I gave my friend a heads up Sunday about what was going on because her guys are little still (1 month old) and I didn't want to bring germs in to them. She said it sounded like NBD and it's not like DS would be touching them, so that it was still okay that he came.

I brought him, and he didn't even go near them let alone touch them. But today he has a bit of a fever and I just found out many of the kids at his DC are sick. So now I'm so so nervous I got the twins sick and I feel AWFUL about it!

Re: Feeling like the worst friend ever :-(

  • You did all the right things. You monitored his symptoms and they didn't seem that serious. You told your friend about them so she could make a call about what to do. Kids at daycare are going to pass things around like gang busters, so that's just all part of the gig. Don't beat yourself up too much. I'm sure the newbies will be just fine!

  • Thanks. I just checked in with her and so far so good. And she didn't seem upset about it either.
