Any advise?!

I've always been a back sleeper, like always! But ever since I hit 20 weeks it was getting harder and harder, I've done all I can, with pillows and body pillow and everything I can but still wake up on my back, and the worst part is out of breath. Is there anything else I can do to sleep to the side more comfortable? It's just getting more uncomfortable and I can't breath when I wake up!!! Thanks for any suggestions in advance ladies :)

Re: Any advise?!

  • Just the pregnancy pillows. The one I have is a horse shoe shape. It's huge but having the back part tucked against my back helps keep me on my side. You could also use pillows to prop yourself so you are still on your back but not flat. I had to do that at the end last time because if I lwas laying on my side my heartburn was just too bad so I had to be on an incline.

Just saying what doctor told me. Don't worry about how you sleep your body will tell you to change position when you need too.

Edit to add forget what I said I just reread you post and you are uncomfortable on your back. Sorry

  • I've started tucking a body pillow behind me, so when I roll over in my sleep I don't roll all the way onto my back, I'm sort of at a 45 degree angle. That seems to be doing the trick for now, because sleeping on my side is starting to hurt my hips.

  • I HATE sleeping on my side. But I've been using a body pillow for between my legs and kind of under my stomach then I have my husband tuck a pillow behind my back/butt. I find myself waking up a lot mainly laying on the pillow behind me but my dr said as long as I'm at an angle I'll be just fine! Try propping a pillow under a hip!
  • Thank you all I will try using more pillows till their is no way I can't turn on my back! Lol means hubby only gets one pillow tonight! (Instead of his 3) :)
