Clomid and Femara

We had to do IVF for DS and we are going to be working on #2 now and was wondering if anyone has done the Clomid and Femara together??  Any luck?  It is all a blur from when we were doing these with DS.  Just waiting for Aunt Flow to return to give my OB a call to find out when we are starting things!

    I've never heard of clomid and femara together. They do the same thing, so I would be afraid of an insane number of follies. What is your diagnosis?
    TTC with PCOS since November 2009
    IUI#1 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP, m/c
    IUI#2 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 5-9) = BFN
    IUI#3 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP!
    beta #1 11/23 = 270, P4 = 75
    beta #2 11/28 = 2055
    Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
    Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!

    Endo and PCOS mainly.  My doctor will be monitoring my follicles with u/s so we don't get a crazy number of them and I end up an Octomom!

    I'm just saying I don't understand the point. It would be like taking Tylenol and Advil at the same time for a headache. Now maybe a different drug that worked differently, like injects, that I can see. I have just never heard of clomid and femara together.

    I've heard of using them together but it's not something I've tried (and I've tried just about everything!)  Independently, I had better success with Femara than Clomid.

    Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

    Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

    Yes, I only used Clomid once (prescribed by my OB who clearly didn't know WTF she was doing, for a variety of reasons) on a natural cycle.  BFN.  Then the first RE switched me to Femera because he said "Clomid is archaic, Femera is better."  I did Femera with a couple IUI's.  I have never heard of Clomid and Femera on an IVF cycle.  Normally you would do injectibles.

    The first RE I saw I did Menopur and Bravelle.  My current RE has me on Follistim and Menopur.  It worked before so I am doing that again.

    We aren't back to the IVF quite yet.  We had to do it with #1 and while trying for #2 we are seeing if my first pregnancy could have possibly helped and we won't have to get so deep into things this time.  When we did IVF I was doing the Bravelle and all of the fun injections.
