I know it's still early, but when will you start working on your baby's room? I've been pinning ideas like crazy lately!!! Also, do you have a theme or color ideas already? Would love to hear ideas!
I'm obsessed with the Restoration Hardware nurseries. If I had unlimited money I would straight copy the RH baby catalog. I like the soft, neutral colored nurseries with either a really soft pink or blue, but not too much of it. No theme. Well, I guess the theme is baby.
We live in a teeny tiny house, so baby's 'nursery' will be in our room for the first year or so. It's currently under renovations (we're finishing the attic of our bungalow off as a 'master suite'), but I've already done plenty of standing around in there imagining where the crib and the baby's dresser/changing table will go.
Beyond that? Not too much! We won't start decorating for baby until next spring at least and I might put it off as long as possible since we will be sharing the space.

I'm not much of a theme person either. DS's nursery was grey and white with pops of yellow.
Am thinking navy and white with teal and possibly pink if LO is a girl. Just the one wall would be navy, with white accents, and the white crib. probably bright coloured chair and white or coloured curtains.
I don't have a theme but we've started a few things. My husband painted one area of the wall that is a magnetic chalk board and I am going to frame it in, so we are going to get cute little magnets and write things on the board like a baby countdown or milestones. The room is going to be light gray and I'm going to decorate with soft colors- one neutral and one traditional gender color depending on boy or girl. If it's a girl it may be yellow and purple if boy maybe green and blue. Also, my sister just offered her furniture which I am going to need to refinish to be white. I have a loveseat type chair that I am going to reupholster which will also be in that room. Hope these plans aren't too ambitious!
I was planning on reusing DS's theme. We are moving soon and I am going to do a big boy room for him with a theme that he helps pick out. I figure that my forest friends will work for the next baby until he/she is older and can pick out her own stuff too. Does that make me boring?
We will be moving shortly before this baby is due so I won't be doing anything any time soon. I think I want an LMNOpeas (it's a book) theme but I haven't decided yet. DS's room is the very hungry caterpillar
C's nursery, which we'll be re-using as soon as we get C's upstairs room painted, is a nice warm yellow/orange. Right now it's got white curtains. If this one turns out to be a boy, I might change those to green just to make it a little more manly, and then we'll change some of the art work (which right now is family heirloom girly stuff from my own childhood). We have a white crib, white changer, and white rocker. I wanted it as easily changed to suit gender as possible.
The bedroom we are using as a nursery is already painted a very a soft neutral brown and is very warm and soothing. We are going to stick with rich, warm colors and do a turn of the century explorer theme. Lots of maps, safari animals, etc. Fits in nicely with our love of travel and our hopes that our LO will be an adventurous sort!
DD and LO will be sharing a room. If its a boy we will have to re-do her pink butterfly theme into something neutral. If not we will be keeping it the same and just adding a mini crib to the room and a bassinet in ours.
I'm giving DD the choice of staying in her room or moving into a NEW room (we haven't told her yet, so this will obviously happen after that). I'm going to encourage her to move to the other room, since we would need to repaint it anyway.
If new baby moves into DD's old room, it's just green. No real theme. I do have pictures of animals and items (counting in Hebrew) up on the wall, but that's it. I wouldn't do much else even if she stays in that room - just repaint the room and not do much with it.
I am planning on doing grey/white with yellow accents. I had a white crib/dresser in mind, but my mom says white furniture might be to girly, so now I don't know!! Thought?
I'm going white crib... I think it will work just fine for a boy or girl!
I'm obsessed with gray walls for the nursery. I figured we would do pops of color when we find out the sex and since my DH is a golfer for a living we are going to do a small argyle pattern for a little accent wall.
We're planning on buying a house shortly after the new year so we won't be doing anything until after that, obviously. We both have our hearts set on having a boy, so for now all our talks are boy centered. I had really wanted to do grey, white, and yellow with a loose elephant theme, but bf is crazy addicted to sports and he wants to do sports. I'm giving in to him, but only because google searching turned up some really classy looking sports stuff that isn't childish and stupid.
ETA: I want my baby to have a room they can grow into, which is why I'm leaning away from the childish, cartoon like sports stuff for the nursery.
I have 2 weeks off during December and hope tackle some of the nursery projects then and we should also know the genders. We know we want neutral and I am not a huge fan of themes, grey and an accent color is what I am loving right now!
We cleaned, painted, and put proper window coverings up this weekend. I felt silly at first, but am I ever glad we did it. It was a lot of work, I couldn't imagine doing that with a belly. Now I have a sense of peace when I look in there and now as we accumulate things we can just plop it in it's place. We did gray walls, curtains, and rug with white trim, cordless blinds, and furniture. When we find out the gender we will go from there with colour. But we're leaning towards deep purple, or navy and pink, or deep red with fire trucks maybe. DH hates yellow and green, otherwise I'd probably have it all done by now.

My MIL is coming to stay for two weeks when the baby is born and I keep my babies in my room for six months so I won't get to decorate any time soon since MIL will be in the nursery.
I want to do a gray and yellow theme this time. I finished the nursery wayyyy too early last time and had nothing to do for the 2nd half of my pregnancy, so I probably wont start until 20 weeks+ this time around.
I do color schemes but no themes. I don't like themed nurseries. Planning on a grey nursery for #4 and will add purple for girl or most likely navy for a boy.
We are not really into themes, and prefer more neutral palettes so we will probably go that route, with a few traditionally gender-specific accents thrown in. I haven't done much thinking beyond that yet!
Don't really have a theme in mind, but want to go with soft, neutral colors in earthy tones. I'm surprised to see so many gray nurseries. You see them all the time on pinterest, it's interesting to see them branch out to TB.
I'm glad I'm not the only person who isn't into themes. People usually think I'm crazy! We have really dark wood floors, so I'd love to do a soft, neutral color for the walls with white accents. I found a colorful picture on etsy of a phrase my grandmother always used to say so I'd like to incorporate that and just pull some pops of color from the picture.
I don't really have a "theme". I'm just going to find cute bedding and then paint the walls to whatever matches the bed colors. It will be gender neutral though as I would want to re-use for the next one!
We will be Team Green but the baby will be sharing a room with DD regardless. Right now her room is a pale purple but since we were also Team Green with her all the furniture and decor is grey and white so the room is still pretty gender neutral. We won't be repainting her room either way. I don't think a newborn boy is going to care if his room is purple.
We (mostly I) have things planned out for the nursery. We have family coming for Thanksgiving so we will start after they leave.
It will be an elephant theme as we picked up a hand-painted cloth (see photo) in Thailand on our honeymoon that we loved (didn't know then that we'd use if for this). It will hang on the wall above the crib. The walls will be grey with bright accents that match the painting. We consider it gender neutral and plan to use the same nursery for any children that follow. I have started a rag rug, bought material for the crib sheets and skirt and we bought a swivel glider off craigslist (never used!). I will need to determine the curtain material as well as the valance. DH will be making the furniture and an abacus for over the changing table. I cannot wait to start!
I love the idea of a nursery. However I know it won't really work for our family. I still cosleep with my 3 year old and plan on getting a cosleeper for my newborn until they are old enough to sleep in my bed without worrying about them. My 3 year old has her own room and her own bed she would rather sleep with us and we are ok with that. I really envy some of these gorgeous nurseries I see on Pinterest. I too love the idea of gray or slate walls for some reason.
LO's nursery right now is blue walls with pink accent curtains and lots of bright purple, green, yellow and pink accents. If we have another DD then I won't change it at all except to add some personal things for her and move DD's stuff now. For the first few months LO will be in a bassinet in our room so I am not much worried about the nursery. If we have a DS then I will change out all of the accents and make him a sheet that looks like a football field and move DD into the larger room. We are on a budget and the nursery is very functional will just need some new curtains and small decorations.
We were team green the first time and will be this time too. Regardless, this new LO will share a room with DD. I can't stand themes, and in my opinion they are outgrown rather quickly. Here are a few pics of what we did with ours. I cant find a picture of the wall where her crib is for some reason..but its white with dark wood legs. I didnt buy a bedding set because they are useless, i just bought some aqua fitted sheets. If the picture is large...i apologize.

Our house is really beachy, and I want to do the nursery the same. I'm thinking a light sea green wall with either blue or pink accents.
@flojo973 I love RH, but their prices are outrageous. I love lusting after the catalog....it's like a book!
