Re: Health and Wellness Check In

  • I'm waiting for my second pre-op appointment. I was told the one at the hospital would be two hours. Well, I registered, answered some questions and had some blood taken. It took longer to drive here than what I was at the hospital for. Up next is the meeting with the RE.

I would say healthy eating has been a challenge. C's Dad is staying with us and we have been on the go as usual. We have also been overly tired. All of that makes me not want to cook dinner and just eat whatever is easy. Easy usually means unhealthy.

My goal for this next week is to drink all of my water every day. I'm going to start small and add another healthy thing every week.

I will put in a QOTW: Do you have any healthy meal ideas that are quick and easy?

I LOVE roasted cauliflower and mashed garlic cauliflower. Pair either of those with some chicken and I'm set!

    Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

Together since 2/15/11 ~ Legally married in NY on 9/29/12

    ***CP mentioned***

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

    1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

     ****All Welcome!****

We are Mommas to four fur babies - 3 dogs and 1 cat.

  • C and I are dropping our Y membership :( We can't seem to motivate ourselves to go at night when it's bitter cold and dark outside.  It was much easier in the late summer.  The sun would just be setting and it would be refreshing to take a swim.  But now... blargh.  We have our basement workout equipment so we'll stick with that.

I have been sucking really hard at self-care.  I'm stressing myself out with TTC which is totally counterproductive.

QOTW: I love a simple grilled dinner: chicken and veggies with a baked potato in the oven.  All I have to do is man the grill for 10-15 minutes and bam, there's dinner!  Ah, now I miss summer.  Which is really, really bad because it's not even winter yet.  The cold-weather blues are hitting me exceptionally early this year.

  • I'm holding steady at about 191lbs this week, which I'm pleased about since my business trip over the weekend involved some poor dietary choices... and a gluten attack. :(

Smurf's brother built me a bike, and I finally got it on the weekend... was all excited to start riding everywhere when BAM! Snowfall. Can't wait for it to melt so I can start riding again!

QOTW - Our "quick n healthy" meal usually consists of baked salmon or rainbow trout, some brown rice, and steamed spinach. Takes about 30mins altogether, if you own a rice cooker. Super simple because all you have to do is rinse everything before cooking, and season the fish how you wish.
