Baby play gym midi sounds

I'm sure Im not alone in this, but I HATE that whiny shrill electronic "midi music" that is in so many children's toys. You know the type that gets progressively worse and off-key as the batteries die?

Can anyone recommend their baby play mat/gym that doesn't have this shrill "music", or at least one where its easy to turn off without shutting down other fun functions?

DH and I were laughing today that DDs gifted toys will all be inspected for obnoxious sounds before she ever gets to play with them so she won't know what she's missing when the batteries are removed. Haha!

I don't have a suggestion for the mat, but with my older DS I covered all the speakers on toys that were too loud and/or obnoxious with painters tape. I just left enough uncovered like my own volume control. And the tape was really easy to remove when it was time to get rid of the toys.

We have this one. It does have the annoying music, but also a less annoying nature sounds setting.

I hate those digital sounds, too. Everett also seems to prefer "real" sounds, like the bear we have that you pull it's legs and it plays a music box-like song.

I don't have this, but was just looking at this toy review website yesterday and they say this first play mat has a wind-up music box, no digital battery operated thing.

We have the one mentioned above from target and love it. There is a wind up elephant that plays cute music that doesn't last long, but you just wind it up again

I'd go for the Plan Toys one if it had better reviews.
