People just plain suck sometimes

I am only 18 weeks but very obviously showing. I have also put on 15+ lbs. My first PG was not at all like this so I am a little self conscious.

So Friday I was at a school event, talking to DH and a couple of other dads, and my friend's DH walks up to me in front of this group of people and says "Oh my god, you've gotten huge."

Then yesterday an older male CW who I am friends with looks down at my stomach as I am walking down the hall and then grabs his pot belly and says "you are almost as big as me already."

Then this morning DH was telling me about his female CW who is due three days after me who isn't showing at all.

SO the next person that says anything about my stomach or my weight is going to get a boot up their ass. I am growing a person, leave me the fvck alone.

I dread going back to work each Monday because of the comments about my belly (which mind you is still "beer gut" style and not really baby belly). I live in one of the most obese places in the nation and everyone who makes comments to me is overweight. TP to them all!

Common denominator here --> men. They have NO idea what they're doing. They have no idea that their words are offensive or hurtful and they have no idea how to gauge how big you "should" be. Not that women can't be ignorant, too, but if those comments come from men or women who have never been pregnant then I certainly don't let it get to me. I'm sorry, though! It still sucks to hear it.

My friend's DH who said "you're huge" doesn't have a clue and says stupid stuff all the time. I just laughed him off because I was not at all surprised he said it. I think my CW thought he was being funny but I said to him "thanks. As if I'm not self conscious enough."

It just pisses me off that people think they can openly judge and insult PG women, even if they are trying to do it in a funny way. We have feelings too, you know.

I have the same issue at work!!! It makes me so frustrated, with the women I just want to be like OMG did you forget how you felt when you were pregnant!!!! So frustrated with all of them I try just to hide in my office and not come out unless it is to use the bathroom

Yesterday (I'm chalking it up to the adorable, bump-accentuating dress I was wearing) I swear at least 10 people mentioned how big I looked....

Why is it all of a sudden OK to tell a woman, "Gee you look bigger than ever!"

Oh fuck them.
One day when I had bought a sandwich and fries I had male coworker say to me "woah, how much are you eating there chubby?"
Me: "I'm eating for two asshole, where's your excuse? It's not a good Idea to call a pregnant woman fat."

He shut up after that.

I think for the most part men just have no clue what to say....well that is true about more than just pregnancies.

My dad for one is completely clueless (but absolutely lovely). After my MC in May, he asked me how I was after my incident. My response was I had a MC not a drug overdose.

Men just don't get it, take their snide remarks about your belly as a sign they at least care!

i am not showing yet and some of my friends are who are close to my due date and i am jealous of them! I keep getting the "you dont even look pregnant" comments and not in th complementing me way. More like the suspision that i am making up this pregnancy.. or something. people just dont get that when it comes to being pregnant no matter what we look like we dont want to hear what you think abou it! chances are that everyone of us pregnnat people are self conscious at some point of our pregnancy and peoples ignorant comments are never helpful!

Yesterday I bought a box of sees chocolates. Later I was sitting on the curb eating one when a woman walked up next to me to lock up her bike at the bike rack. She looked at me and said "are you going to eat that whole box?" I chuckled and answered "sure" and went back to eating. Her husband was with her and mine was sitting next to me and there was this awkward silence while they fiddled with their gear. Like both men were thinking "did she really just say that" I don't know if she was trying to be funny, but it was a very awkward thing to say, and my response made her look like a bitch. It didn't bother me because I'm in good shape and was just sitting there eating a chocolate, which by God I've earned. It was just such a awkward, rude thing to say to a complete stranger. After the couple walked away my husband was like WTF!?

This is me too! Depending on what I wear you really can't tell most days. I've had SO many people say I don't look pregnant or ask me of I'm sure I'm pregnant. Ummm yeah pretty sure thanks.

I'm so sorry! People do suck! This is when you are entitled to look however you want and do whatever you want - and I bet you are glowing!! Just keep yourself and the baby happy and tell the rest of them to eff off.

Or you can do what I do, when people tell me that my tummy is getting huge and they touch it, I tell them the reality is I haven't gone to the bathroom in like a week so they're just rubbing my s*!%. But that;s only the days I am feeling extra sassy haha

I've come to the conclusion that people think they can say whatever they want to pregnant women about their belly. I work at a school and a parent that hasn't seen me in a while said I thought you were expecting, when are you due? I said , April. She replied with OMG your gonna be huge. Needless to say I did one of those smiles from those ecards with the thought if you only knew what I was thinking right now. It made it worse bc I have had people telling me you are looking great for 20 weeks....just leave my bump alone people!
