Baby wakes up with "dry" mouth

My 8 week old sleeps from about 11:30 - 5:00' sometimes a bit earlier or later. Once in a while, she wakes up with a dry like mouth....or a "mucky" mouth (white stuff on her lips) not sure how else to describe it. Right after she eats on the first breast, its back to normal and her mouth isn't dry at all. Her wet diaper output is minimum 6 in a 24 hr period. Anyone have any ideas as to why this would happen? I'm worried that maybe she's hungry but doesn't always wake up? I'll be asking her pedi on Friday, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

  • Not sure why...I just assumed that the air was dry. I started using a humidifier and it helped.
