Lets play "who's awake?"

It's almost 3am here and I have yet to go to sleep. I've tried putting dd to bed since 7:30pm. She has fallen asleep a few times but no longer than 45 mins. She has now been up since 12:30am. WTF.

She won't nap, she won't sleep at night. How is this even possible??!

Misery loves company, come on down!

Re: Lets play "who's awake?"

  • I'm awake. :(. This is the second night in a row that LO has been waking up every 45 mins or so. It took me 2 hrs to even get him asleep .

    Hello misery. I'm your company.

  • What is wrong with these babies?
  • No idea! I was almost in tears myself. He so fussy which is unlike him. Last night I thought it was gas and gave him gripe water but tonight doesn't seem to be gas. Plus, he's been waking up screaming which makes me think nightmares. :(

  • *yawn* Mornin'! I've been up since I went to bed. Poor C has had an awful night, between an upper respiratory infection and the side effects of his 6m vaccinations. He's sooo congested and his little legs hurt. :(

His pedi told me to give him a medication to relieve his symptoms, but of course he spit it all out. Apparently babies don't like bubble gum flavor! So no relief for him, and no sleep for either of us.

  • I'm awake and barely keeping my eyes open to type this. Apparently M thinks this milk buffet is open 24 hours. Also, the thing that keeps waking her up multiple times a night is that she rolls to her tummy and thinks she's stuck there for life. I can't wait till she realizes that she CAN roll to her back without help and without screaming.

I hope autocorrect fixed any typos I had. I literally cannot keep my eyes open.

We've had similar issues the past few nights. I'm blaming wonder week 26. Right on time-thanks WW = /. I don't need to be coherent for parent teacher conferences, I'd rather cuddle all night-in all honesty I would rather cuddle with my baby all day (and night if necessary) but I've got to work. Which makes these all nighters rough, especially at conference time.

    Edit for clarification.
  • I can't imagine not bed sharing on nights like these.

  • I was up every hour or so...got one 3 hour stretch!!! Missed the online party though
  • Ugh. This was us Sunday and Monday night. Screaming and moaning waking up all night long (normally sttn). Spoke to her pedi yesterday. He said it could be teething or it could be that she's becoming more aware of her surroundings (wonder weeks maybe). He suggested giving her some Tylenol an hr before bed. Last night was better. She woke once early in the night which DH soothed her back to sleep and then once at 3 which she let out a single cry/scream every 30 seconds or so and went back to sleep until 6:30.
    3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)
IVF and Natural FET resulted in BFN's and a hole in our wallets
Natural BFP #4 on 9/7/12 gave us our miracle on 5/18/13

  • @boo0512 and @snowgirl427 I had the exact same kind of night. I put her to bed at 8 and she slept for 45 minutes and then woke up screaming. I got her back to sleep for another 45 minutes and she woke up crying again. She was awake and fussier than ever til 3am. Then she decided 5 am was a good time to eat and by 8 she apparently felt she had enough sleep. I don't understand...she doesn't nap during the day so how is she even awake?? I was crying last night and so frustrated - especially when my DH says "feed her again" (for the 10th time). Sometimes I want to fall asleep with my boobs securely in my shirt and not in someone's mouth. I'm taking a sick day today but a big part of me wants a babysitter to deal with this cranky child instead. *sigh*

  • Sounds like a lot of us are having a hard time. DD Slept from 3:15am-7am. She went back to sleep for another 20 mins and now we are up for the day.

The first lunch date I've had with my BFF since the baby was born is today. That should be fun 8-|
  • Lax - it could be teething. Dr. said at his 4 mo appt he was teething (due to drool) ... But no drool yet.

    @beaubecca - sorry E is sick!

    Quit farting on her pillow!

We got a 3.5 hour stretch tonight. Before that we were up every 45 minutes. I have no idea what the problem is. She's always been a good sleeper at night. Not anymore.

  • Oi I'm so sorry ladies! Hopefully these kids realize how amazing sleep is very soon!
  • Nights like these that I desperately wish she would take a bottle so that I could make DH take a turn and let me stay in bed. I just want to cry, I'm so damn tired.

You know I feel the no bottle pain. Now DH has been going to work at 3am so even if he could help he wouldn't be able to. Not much anyway. I mAy try and nap at work today.
