I don't know if I misheard my midwife, but I asked her the cost of delivery for them. I THINK I heard her say 26000, but is that not possible? Maybe she meant 2600 and I heard 26000?
$2600 OOP seems high to me. Do you have insurance? Maybe that's what she would charge insurance and then you'd be responsible for any coinsurance and deductibles? I would ask again for clarification. My OB hospital delivery with an epidural was about 10k before insurance.
I called back to ask her. Our deductible is 4 thousand. . . So, that's why we are going to end up paying 2600 not including ultrasounds, blood tests, rhogram shot and whatever the hospital will charge us.
Our total was around 26000. But all we had to pay was 1500 after insurance. And that was with regular baginal birth. Call back if you want, but normally your insurance is the one who knows all of that.

Thanks. I did end up calling back and they do charge 2600 for the delivery is what they said. The rest is a separate bill from the insurance, but the 2600 is THEIR fee. I am okay with that. I just misheard 26,000 not 2600. Silly me.
