Pedi gastroenterologist

I made LO an appt with a pedi gastro several weeks ago when our pedi wasn't helping. Well fast forward he finally put LO on meds which are not helping but he finally did it. Should I cancel the appt?
I really want a second opinion because I worry LO has inherited my stomach issues and I can't stand to see her miserable. And my pedi is so traditional and thinks I'm a lunatic for not giving her traditional formula. I asked today if I could change to someone else in the practice and the sec said that isn't done.

I'm a big believer in second opinions- especially when it comes to specialists. If it's not a significant financial burden to see the pediatric GI doc, I think you should do it. And, I think it's so weird they won't let you see another doc in the practice. We switch between two of them, but won't go to the other two (I think they are mean!).

Hope LO gets some relief soon. Both of my boys struggled with reflux and those early months were so tough. Poor babe!

I definitely think you should keep the appointment for a second opinion. If it was me, and if was unhappy with my pediatrician, I would just go to a new practice. It seems strange to me that you wouldn't be able to just switch providers into he practice, but it is important that you trust your pedi.

I would definitely still go and I would definitely be looking for a new pedi. You really need to trust and be on the same page with your pedi.
If you don't mind my asking, what sort if stomach issues do you have? What type if formula is LO on again?

Celiac, lactose intolerance, IBS, several food allergies. Everyone in DH family lactose intolerant in my family Crohns, colitis, celiac, IBS, lactose int

LO is on goats milk formula she stopped shrieking and having horrible gas

Definitely keep the appointment! It's aways worth another set of eyes to look at a problem for a fresh perspective! I hope your lo has a better tummy than you

I would also recommend you keep your specialist appointment. I would also suggest that you look for a pediatrician that you are more in line with philosophically. You don't have to stay with the one you have now.

I also recommend keeping your pedi GI appointment.

Your experience with the pediatrician is very similar to mine. I did not like or feel comfortable with my first one and was told very rudely by the receptionist that I could not switch within the practice. I found a different pediatric practice where I am very satisfied and my daughter receives better medical care. Don't allow yourself to be bullied by this group and look for someone who feel more comfortable with. GL.
