So I really am starting to get frustrated with not getting KU. To TTC#2 I have done 3 clomid/IUI cycles, 2 of which made it to IUI. I did one menopur/clomid but it was cancelled due to no response. I have also done 3 menopur cycles and 2 have made it to IUI. It seems my follicles stop growing after about day 12.

I am thinking about going back to clomid because at least I have a good response and ovulate but then I thought injects had a higher success rate. WWSAIFD? Should I give injects another shot or clomid?

DS was conceived on the second round of clomid and we are dealing with MFI, low sperm count but DH is on clomid and that has fixed his count in the past but the last few IUIs his count has been low.

Yes injects do have a higher rate. Could you try a different inject med with clomid like gonal f? Thats what i used with DS1.

I also would inquire about a different injectable. What about ovidrel?

Can you try femara instead of Clomid? You might get a better response. I'm sorry you have not had any luck

maybe add an hcg trigger for more pinpointed ovulation for IUI.

Thanks ladies. I'll ask about gonal f and ovidrel. Kmc I am using a trigger as well but I think I'll ask about femara too. I think the RE and I need to do some more brainstorming.

My RE said that injects produce better quality eggs, for what it's worth. Injects are the more aggressive route, I wouldn't go back to clomid.

Also, I believe Clomid has a 6 cycle limit and it looks like you have already done 5. I would definitely not do another round of Clomid.

Ok so I have been googling and it looks like Ovirdrel is used as a trigger. But I remember reading about someone using Follitism in their siggy so I googled that one and I think that may be the way to go. I haven't gotten AF yet so Im waiting to schedule my CD3 appt.

Anyone have any good/bad experiences with Follitism?

Compared to Clomid, Follistim was a breeze for me!

I used Follistim in 8/12 of my cycles. It's a total breeze and the injection pen is super easy to use. I also used Ovidrel triggers for all of my IUI cycles (I used Pregnyl for my IVF retrivals). No problems with either one.

I think this may be the way to go. I am hoping the clinic I go to uses this drug and that its covered by my insurance. I read that its pretty expensive because there is still a patent on it. But for the future the patent expires in 2015.

I agree with trying injects as opposed to going back to Clomid. We used Follistim for three IUI's total, one time for G and two times so far for baby #2.

I think it was your siggy that i remembered seeing Follitism used in. I am def going to ask about it.
