YES. My mom used to do this and us kids knew we were in trouble. She still does it but I give it back. Bitch I'm 28. Haha. DS already gets the stink eye and shall for the remainder of his life!
Absolutely, it works wonders on DH as well. In conjunction with what I call the "mule noise", a loud "eehhhnn" I got in the habit of using when I worked in barns with livestock. Startles the crap out of people.
Although this backfired on my friend whose two year old now has perpetual stink-eye.
James gets this when we are in a place that I can't speak, usually church or if he is talking during the blessing. Giving the stink eye while praying is ok, right?
My stink eye is only effective if Kenleigh isn't in a hyper, playful mood. Otherwise, she'll just mock me. Hasn't seemed to make a difference either way with Mason.
Another fan favorite is : "This is your warning. You do that again and there will be consequences at home." The agony of waiting to know what their consequence is much worse for my older kids than an immediate punishment.
FTR: their usual punishment is things like no iPad, alone time in their room, etc.
I gave my 6yr old the stink eye during dinner tonight because he wouldn't quit saying teasing things to his brother. He moved his face behind the roll of paper towels so I couldn't see his eyes and finished eating quietly. 1 point mom- 0 kid.
I would totally do it, but I think I'd have to try it out in the mirror first. I'm out of practice and I'm pretty sure I would just look like I had painful gas. :-?

Actually that is proper form. The two looks are the same so congratulations, you already have it down!
Re: Will you/do you give the stink eye?
