Changing pad/liners

I'm looking at my new contoured changing pad from Babies R Us...it looks plastic and waterproof, although it doesn't officially state it on the package. I also have this package of changing pad liners that are 100% cotton but supposedly ARE waterproof. Do I need to use both?? Do the liners actually help or does it just make more things to clean? Does the changing pad even need an extra waterproof lining? Current moms/registry gurus, help me out here!

    I personally didnt use the pad liner. I feel its more to protect your pad cover then the pad itself. It was easier for me to just wash the pad cover. But I do know some people prefer it. It's a personal preference I guess, not a must.

    I've always used the Terry Cloth covers on my changing pad.  The changing pad itself is technically waterproof, so I never saw the need to buy another, just a few covers for the pad so LO wouldn't be cold on it.  

    For the first few weeks after delivery I just used the extra disposable changing pad covers I had left over from the hospital, then from there I just used the covers I bought.  I really haven't had too many issues with my LO peeing all over the place.   

    The changing pads themselves are easy to clean if there is pee on them, you can just wipe them down real quick.  I see no need to have both.

    In the beginning I would put the changing pad cover directly over the changing pad and then put a liner on top of the changing pad cover.  It was easier for me this way because most of the time if there was a pee or poop incident it would only get on the liner and not the changing pad cover.  I feel like if I had not used the liners I would be washing 3 changing pad covers per day.

    this for me.  I have a cute minky cover on the changing pad, & I will use the waterproof changing pad liners on top of that, that way I won't need to wash the cover.

    I used the washable waterproof pads over the top of my changing pad. They are cheap so it's more practical to have multiples that can just be thrown in the wash if there's a blowout (which there will be.)

    I got crib protectors on sale at Fred Myer and sandwiched them between minky and cotton fabric. I can use them as matress liner, throw it on my changing pad or put it in my diaperbag. Waterproof and soft.

    I've never even heard of a changing pad liner. I just use the regular cover thing and if I know it's gonna be real messy, I might put a burp cloth down under his butt. And then toss it all in the wash.
