Irrationally upset about failing my 1 hr.

Ugh! This happened last time too! I'm just gonna have a pity party. I don't wanna, I don't wanna, I don't wanna! Since this happened last time but I didnt have GD, is it possible my body just doesn't process the sugar that fast? Idk...but I'm not looking forward to it. Just a vent, I guess. Have your pity party here today.

I was irrationally upset too, but it happened to be the exact same day that it was 100% confirmed that I have kidney stones. So I think it was the culmination of events for me.

Thats how I felt exactly. I took my three hour yesterday and I procrastinated it for 2 weeks. I survived though. I hoped I passed otherwise I give up lol. This pregnancy has been a train rec for me. I was not expecting to fail the 1 hr. I also wasn't surprised with how the rest of the pregnancy has went.

I feel your pain. I'm sitting at the lab right now for my 3 hour test after horribly failing the one hour test! It took an hour to see me so I will be here for 4 hours. I'm on bed rest already and just can't imagine adding one more thing to my long list of pregnancy issues. I know baby is fine (and that makes me happy) and if I have this, it is only a few months but I feel really bad for myself.

Hope you pass the 3 hour test, sorry you even have to take it.

I failed by 10 points :-/ I understand your frustration. I asked to just do the 3hr to start with, since I've failed the 1 hour with my 2nd pg (and my last OB let me start with the 3 hour in my 3rd pg) but my new OB didn't want to do it that way. So now I get to waste more hours of my life.

Apparently the 2 hour GTT, will become the new standard of care in the future. Not all practices do this yet. I wish mine did.

Thanks all. For those of you taking your 3 hour today, I really hope you pass! I'll probably be taking mine sometime this week or early next week. @WinsyWade We plan to have more kids so next time I'm KU, I think I'm just going to ask to start with the 3 hr as well. I know it's silly to complain about the glucose drink but it makes me sick and I don't relish the thought of having to drink 2 with each subsequent kid.

I'm doing the 3 hour next Wednesday. I don't know why I was so shocked to fail the 1 hour. I passed by 2 points with DS so I knew there was a chance. I don't mind the pokes but the drink makes me feel awful!

I just finished my 3 hour or should I say 4 hour Glucose test. I know you how feel. I was in such shock. I'm not fat, I don't have a history, my mom had a great pregnancy with me, etc. But its very common to fail the 1 hour and it has nothing to do with all that. they say 75% of women pass the 3 hour one, so have faith! I'm still hoping I pass this one. With that said, they should just do the 2 hour test and not scare women.

I think being irrationally upset about failing is the only rational reaction to have! I was irrationally upset about failing the 1-hour, and then filled with rage when I found out I failed the 3-hour! I hope you pass!

I ugly cried because after I got the called about failing my 1 hour, my nurse told me to come in the next day to do the 3 hour.. I didn't have time to let everything sink in and wasn't given the option to do it at my convenience.

I think that's kind of an odd thing for the nurse to say. I have GD now, and had GD in my first pregnancy and my fasting levels have always been low (60's and 70's) but I've failed all my GTTs by a lot!

I was a big baby when my MW called me to tell me I didnt pass. I dreaded going in for the 3 hour, but honestly it wasnt that bad. Good luck.
