ABCmouse.com?

Has anyone used it? Is it worth the price? DS will be 4 in december and since he's not in school we are trying to do more educational things with him. Opinions?

Re: ABCmouse.com?

  • I think it would be great for a 4 y/o. My 2 y/o loves it, but obviously she needs us to help her a lot, so at this stage it's us sitting together watching the little videos, reading the stories, etc. At 4, I'd anticipate her being able to work it herself (it's pretty simple, she just doesn't have the coordination for a mouse yet) and having lots of fun.

I locked in a special $20 rate for 6 month intervals, so $40 a year, seems very worth it, there are tons of things for her to do at this stage and much more as she progresses with it. Sign up for the emails, and wait until they're having a promotional period (pretty frequently) if you do not want to pay full price.

  • I have a 4 year old and he loves it. My 2.5 yr old does not have the patience for it right now LOL.  I think it is worth it so far.  My son isn't going to make the cut off for Kindergarten this upcoming year so I thought this would be a good activity for him to do at home.

  • I think for a four year old, it definitely would be.

DD is just about to turn two and she loves the videos but we have to do everything for her, obviously. I wouldn't have paid for it myself at this age but her grandma bought it for her.

  • This is kinda off topic but what does DS and DD stand for? I constantly see people using these abbreviations when posting something about their kids in the forums.

  • DS= darling son or dear son
DD= darling daughter or dear daughter
