If you have a nanny, how much do you plan on giving as a bonus for the holidays? I found a thread about this, but there were only 2 responses, so I'm hoping to get more this time. I'd love your input!
We pay her about $450 a week. I usually want to give her one week pay as a bonus. My husband thinks it's WAY too much. Last year I bought her a really nice $200 purse (she needs a big purse for all her stuff) and gave her $100.
This year depending on our finances I want to give her $300 cash or so. Screw my husband I probably just won't tell him I gave her that much. If I can swing a bit more I will.

This is our issue exactly. I love our nanny and want to keep her happy, but my husband thinks a week's pay is ridiculous. I told him I would take a poll. Thanks all.
Last year, DH cashed in all of his frequent flyer points to send her to see her DH, who is stuck in another country due to an immigration issue. She'd worked for us for about 3 months at that point. If we paid cash, it would have cost several thousand $$, so I just hope she's not expecting that again this year LOL!
Re: Nanny bonus
ETA: $500 is about what she makes for an average work week, which is why we decided on it.

I think for a temp nanny that is more than generous. SHe will probably be floored.
