I was looking into doing the monthly package from the Honest Company.
For $80 a month you get 320 NB diapers and 4 packs of wipes. It seems like a good deal with them being organic and all.
My question is how many diapers do babies actually use a month? Will these packs cover the whole month? Or will I still need to stock up on top of that??
Chart as follows
NB- 320 diapers
1- 264 diapers
2- 240 diapers
3- 204 diapers.
So on and so forth.
Re: How many diapers do babies really use??
Like PP said, you also never know how long NB size (or any size) will last for your LO. We had some gifted disposables as back ups, and NB and size 1 fit forever, but we never even touched the size 2s and went straight to 3s. And you don't know if that particular brand will fit right. I would be careful before you stock up on lots of on brand/size of diapers, or else be okay with possibly trying to resell them on a B/S/T site.
Started TTC 05.08
Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH
DH: perfect
1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p
2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!
1 FET in Aug 2013 = BFP!
After solids, I would say it got down to about ~10 a day.
He is 26 months now and not yet potty trained and we go through about 6 a day.
In the 5 weeks we did disposables full time and maybe 5 more weeks we did them about half time, we went through two small packs of newborn pampers (one from the hospital, one from a shower gift) and 3 of the 176 count Earth's Best size 1s. She was born at 7lb4oz but was fine in size 1s after the first few days. I guess that means about 500+ diaper for 7.5 weeks of full time use.
I definitely would not buy 300 newborn size diapers off the bat, especially since you can't return them like you can with unopened packs from a big box store.

I breastfed DS and for probably the first 4 months he pooped every time he ate. For the first month that was about every two hours (so figure at least 12 diapers a day) and then it went to every 3 hours (so at least 8 diapers a day) for another month or so and then every four hours. He wasn't particular about having a slightly wet diaper but not all babies are like that.

I tried The Honest Company. Super cute, but stiff and leaky. I was unimpressed. Plus they are crazy expensive. You can get much betters on other brands via Amazon Mom. I love their household products and their healing balm is amazing. However, I'm not a fan of their business practices, especially their bullying of Honest Toddler. I haven't bought any of their products since that all went down.

I would be scared committing to that many diapers every month when you don't really know what you'll need. Also, your LO might not do well with the Honest Company's diapers. You just never know.
