Christmas Tree

I know it is a little early, but I have been thinking about toddler proofing the Christmas tree. Luckily last year DS wasn't crawling yet. The only place we have to put it is in the corner of the living room where DS spends tons if time. I would like to avoid spending $80+ on a playard to put around it. Any ideas?

I have three kids and have never ever ever put a fence around a tree! Put the glass ornaments higher and plastic or none breakables on the bottom and teach your kid to stay away. Repeated no don't touch and redirection works!

My baby proofing would probably be highly flammable around here. We have outlet covers and that's about it.

We barely have outlet covers.

We already tie the tree to the wall for the cats and keep glass ornaments at the top for the same reason, so we figure we're already covered

All we ever had was outlet covers and I got flamed for it about six months ago on here ... Hehe my how things have changed

You don't recall the post do you? Flames of any kind on this bored tend to stick out and I don't remember a great outlet cover debate lol

Yea we don't baby proof a lot either. We have most outlets covered but not all and the most dangerous stuff is put away so LO can't reach like knives and stuff lol.

As for the Christmas tree my DH is worried but I'm okay. We put a 6 foot tree up on an end table because we have a smallish living room but really high ceilings. We did this before LO because it just filled the space better.

Attaching it to the wall might be a good idea though and it will ease DH's mind a bit. He is more worried about her pulling the whole thing down on herself.

Good suggestion! I think I will do that along with some re-direction. Last year we only had our tree up for about 2 weeks since we didn't have a lot of space to spare. I'm thinking it will be the same way this year, especially now that DD's toys have invaded our living room.

I remember that thread Bellelamb lol. There were only one or two people who disagreed but they were pretty adamant that just outlet covers weren't enough.

Glad I'm not crazy!!! Maybe it wasn't a big flame but on here any little flame sticks in my memory.
