Late Term and Child Loss

Quotes

I am doing a picture book of the day I had PJ for us, my parents, and my in-laws. It is a moment we all shared, and I want to give that gift to them. We are so happy that all her grandparents had a chance to hold her and love on her. That being said, I would like a good quote to put in the book. I've googled some, but nothing has really stood out to me. Are there any quotes you ladies have come across that really spoke to you about your LOs?

Re: Quotes

  • This quote is written on a statue where I had Raynor's memorial.
"No foot is too small to leave an imprint on this earth" ~Unknown author.
I love this quote because through this grief journey of losing my son, he has taught me to look at life through a different lense and not take things for granted.

  • I absolutely love that! The picture on the front of the book is of her feet. That would be such a sweet quote. Thank so much for sharing!

    ***Siggy warning***

I made a similar book for my parents and grandparents. I loved these:

‎”There is, I am convinced, no picture that conveys in all its dreadfulness, a vision of sorrow, despairing, remediless, supreme. If I could paint such a picture, the canvas would show only a woman looking down at her empty arms.” -Charlotte Bronte

“It is not the number of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.”

“Some say you’re too painful to remember. I say you’re too precious to forget.”

“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.”

“So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” -John 16:22

Sometimes love is for a moment.
Sometimes love is for a lifetime.
Sometimes a moment is a lifetime.

If i could have a lifetime wish, a dream that would come trueI'd pray to God with all my heart for yesterday and you.
A thousand words can't bring you back I know because I've tried
And neither would a million tears, I know because I've cried.
You left behind a broken heart and happy memories too
I never wanted memories though, I only wanted you.

And my absolute favorite: "The world may never notice if a rosebud doesn't bloom or even pause to wonder if the petals fall too soon but every life that ever forms or ever comes to be touches the world in some small way for all eternity. The little one we longed for was swiftly here and gone but the love that was then planted is a light that still shines on and though our arms are empty our hearts know what to do every beating of our heart says we will remember you."

I made a photo book as well.  Here are some of the quotes we used.

"This gift will last forever, some things are made from better stuff."- From The song This Gift

This Native American prayer for the grieving.

"With a broken heart she stood there in the ocean.  As the sun st into the luminous sea, she blew a kiss out to heaven and whispered, "I miss you my beautiful child."  -Carly Marie

  • “It's so much darker when a light goes out than it would have been if it had never shone.”― John Steinbeck

On the night you were born,
The moon smiled with such wonder
That the stars peeked in to see you
    And the night wind whispered,
“Life will never be the same.”
Because there had never been anyone like you…ever in the world.
So enchanted with you were the wind and the rain
That they whispered the sound of your wonderful name.
—Nancy Tillman, On The Night You Were Born

That quote from On the Night You Were Born brought tears to my eyes.  That book was the first (and only) thing we bought especially for Jesse.  <3
