How close is your LO to sitting up unsupported?

edited November 2013 in June 2013 Moms
Just curious as I see a lot of nearly sitting babies and feel a little jealous.

  • She's still a bit wobbly, but she can sit on her own, unsupported and playing with a toy for up to 2 minutes.

  • My LO hasn't learned to use his hands for support. He would just fall right to his face I let him go. He has great neck head control but his trunk control is still pretty weak. More tummy time for us!!

  • E is able to sit up quite well while playing with a toy. I have to watch her closely though. She's still pretty wobbly and gets excited then will fling herself backwards.
  • A few seconds over here.....but she is very close. But she won't roll over! She's like fluck that!
  • I try to help her sit but she's no where close, she loves to straighten her legs and lean back or she just folds in half.

  • A little over 4.5m here and not even close.

  • 5.5 mo and she sits unassisted for a few minutes before fussing, then I pick her up.  So I don't know how long she would last before falling- probably 3-5 minutes. But she still hates tummy time so like others no rolling from back to belly yet.

  • I can sit him up and he'll stay for a couple of seconds. For some reason he will tripod sit on our  bed and in his little play pen, but anywhere else he straightens his back and wobbles over.

  • Are all of you using the bumbo? I was given one but returned it when I read many negative reviews.

I doubt everyone is. I got one as a gift, but wouldn't purchase it again. My LO is really small and I doubt his legs will fit much longer. It's easier to just assist him in sitting or use the boppy.

  • Yep, Ella can sit for several minutes on her own but refuses to roll over. She rolled belly to back every time we did tummy time in the beginning. Now, nothing.
    This is us as well

  • My guy tripods for over a minute and is starting to push himself up a little

  • Mine can for a few mins and we don't use a bumbo. Everytime I put her in it she would bend over and try to munch on the sides
