Anyone pregnant again after having an April 2013 baby? I just found out I was and I'm totally stressing about it. I still bf my first and am upset that I will have to cut that short. Not to mention I still vividly remember my 24 hours of labor.
Congratulations! I'm not pregnant, but there are a handful here who are so you'll have some support! Is there a specific reason you have to stop BFing? Many moms can successfully nurse throughout pregnancy (as long as that's what you want!).
Congrats! I am also expecting baby #2 and was not planning on it anytime soon (I was on the pill) so it is a huge surprise. And I have my moments of complete panic, but then I see my LO and realize babies are nothing but a blessing. Like PP said we are here if you need to talk! H&H 9 months!
I'm pregnant with #3 (my April 2013 baby is #2 and I have a three and a half year old son). This was a big surprise. I definitely get overwhelmed when I think about how I'll juggle all three, especially with the two littlest so close together! But I'm trying to focus on the positive.
As far as BFing goes I'm still EBFing my daughter. She does get a little bit of solids but no formula. I've done a bunch of research and talked with a lactation consultant and nursing all through pregnancy is fine for most women. If you have a history of preterm labor you might need to cut back or wean. Some people experience a drop in supply as the pregnancy progresses but not all. My lactation consultant was even encouraging me to consider tandem nursing - nursing both the newborn and my daughter who will be about 13 months. Not sure I'll be up for that but knowing that some women manage that is encouraging me to keep BFing as long as I can.
Thanks everyone. I am going to nurse as long as I can, but I don't think I can do tandum. I just gotta think positive.
Don't give up hope! I tandem fed my twins a few times. It was tough, I know @knitfaced tandem feeds her twins exclusively! And on the bright side, think of how well your supply will be since you have a baby that knows what they are doing while nursing!
I know I am new but I'm pregnant with number 2 about 6 weeks. LO turned 7 months today and I too am a nervous wreck but I just remember that we aren't the first or the last. Also I am still EBFing...

Why do you have to cut it short? I read you can breastfeed both at once.
EDIT read the rest of the thread...
I don't think it's Tandum in the sense of having twins with two young young babies. Tandum nursing with a toddler doesn't sound bad, they piratically are self serve (even at this point). I guess take it day by day. If you can do it, bonus!
Re: pregnant again...
Congrats! There are a few ladies pregnant with #2 (or #2!) on this board!
Congratulations! Hope some of that stress gives way soon.
