Seperate rooms

I'm wondering how long other moms let their little ones sleep in their rooms before putting them in their own rooms? My son is only 2 months old but he's such a loud sleeper and I'm a light sleeper so it's not working well with us in the same room. I'm thinking of putting him in his crib in his nursery but I feel so guilty! Is it too soon?

Ravenclaw was smart and started from day 1. My husband wants our son out of our room, but I like him sleeping in the same room as us. He sleeps in a swing because it helps with his reflux and I don't have room for it in his room. He also chokes a little at times so I feel more comfortable with him in out room.

I wish I were more comfortable with letting my son sleep in his room. I think it is perfectly healthy for a two month old to sleep in their own room. Several S13 moms have posted that they moved their LO to their rooms.

I moved DS into his own room a few days ago but I'm afraid of the baby monitor so I don't know how long this is going to last.

DD is 5 weeks old. We would be moving her next week if we weren't traveling for Thanksgiving where she'll have to be in with us. I don't think it's too early for you! No need for guilt! 2 months is a great amount of time

DD was in her crib in her own room from day one. I don't see why anyone would feel guilty about it because I think most everyone sleeps better that way. Most babies are loud sleepers and I can imagine how hard it would be to sleep with them, I bet after the first time or two of your LO sleeping well you'll be glad you put them in thier own room.

I had planned for LO to sleep in our room in a bassinet. however, my mom stayed over a half a dozen times or so the first couple of weeks and would sit in the glider/recliner all night, waking me when LO needed to eat. As a result LO has become totally accustomed to sleeping in her crib, she wasn't sleeping well in the bassinet in our room (or I was interpreting the waking between her sleep cycles as wanting to feed and not just guiding her back to sleep) so we switched her to her own room permanently.

I wish it'd worked out to keep her with us, but it's working out great. We only have an audio monitor so I force myself to be okay with her in there.

Go with your gut. If you do transition, know that the first few nights will be rough, but it will get easier! Good luck!

Our little girl was in her own room the first week! We have a video monitor, but can also hear her in the room next to us with the doors open anyway!

We are getting a crib from my sister today. DS is 6 weeks and we'll be putting him in it in his own room tonight. I'm hoping it will go well. I think I'll sleep much better and we have a video monitor so we'll be able to see him well.

Between 4-5 weeks for the same reasons. We all sleep better now.

We transitioned our LO at 3 weeks and she LOVES her crib. Don't feel guilty!..isn't that why you bought a crib..to use it!

We just moved DD in her room (but still in the rock n play) two days ago and it's great. She'll be 11 weeks on Monday and although I was nervous I'm glad she is sleeping in their now.

We just moved our 9 week old into his crib last night. He had been sleeping in the RNP in our room until now, but he actually did really well. Went down at 10:45 and I just got him up at 8:30ish. I did run in there at 5 am when I couldn't see him on the monitor which woke him up, but id still call it a success!

We moved DD at 4 weeks. She has a bit of reflux too, so we have inclined her crib and it works perfectly. And I've actually found it's so much more comfortable to nurse her in the glider and change her on a normal height changing table, rather than nursing propped up in bed and changing bent over the bed, that I don't even mind having to walk down the hall!

DS was in his crib on night 2 home from the hospital, but we lived in a much smaller place; we were really only separated by one wall.

We only waited as long as we did this time because I was nervous about DD waking DS, and then havingn 2 kids to deal with in the middle of the night!

I'm the same a ravenclaw and amief, both my boys have been in their crib in their own room from day one. Never feel guilty, it's totally fine!

I think you should do whatever you are comfortable with! I'm a nutjob about the SIDS recs and since I read it should be 6 months, that's what I'm doing. I WISH I could get comfy with the idea of moving her because she's so noisy!

I love bed sharing with her. But I start out with her in the crib. It's more me than her.
