Shopping cart seat covers

My son is 6 months old and quickly outgrowing his infant car seat, and since winter is approaching I think it would be difficult to wear him in a sling while shopping. So I'm looking for a shopping cart cover so he can sit in the cart. Any recommendations?

  • I almost bought one too but then I realized when I go to stores they have the big canisters of wipes that you can wipe the carts down. Sometimes I also just use a receiving blanket.
  • I have a cart cover and it's sitting in its packaging in the closet. It's just a hassle that I don't want to deal with. I do wipe the cart handle with disinfecting wipes before putting DS in. I'm pretty laid back about germs, but people will go on and on about poop on cart handles. Before I had a baby, I never wiped the cart down and I was always fine.

  • I bought one at walmart its the child of mine brand. I bought it on a whim, and ended up really liking it. You can attach toys to it, this is it's greatest feature.  I can spend as much time as I need in the store, and DD just plays and plays with her toys.  Also use it at restaraunts and again the toys help give us a little extra time.  https://www.walmart.com/ip/Child-of-Mine-Shopping-Cart-and-High-Chair-Cover-Neutral/20682858

  • We have a similar one to pp, but it's from Target (Eddie Bauer makes it). I couldn't see spending a ton on it since I wasn't really sure how much I'd actually use it, I think it was around $15. About half the time I just use disinfecting wipes to wipe down the seat/handle but for a big grocery shopping trip I usually bring the cover so I can clip toys on it, I especially like those toy clips!

  • I use an Eddie Bauer one someone gave me because it has a harness to keep LO secure, since she's still is prone to falling over and gets tired after sitting in the cart for a while. But I don't know if all shopping cart covers have an over the shoulder harness? This is the only one I've really looked at.
