I put my 15 month old son to bed and turn on the baby monitor. I see this woman holding him and rocking him. I ran in the room ready to tear my child out of this crazy persons arms.....We just had new neighbors move next store with a 1 yr old son so I guess we were using the same frequency. I changed my frequency. Should I tell her or can she is my son too?
I've heard about this happening with video. That's why I won't get one! I instantly thought crazy physco came through his window!! I had a heart attack for you!! I would tell her just so she is aware! Good ice breaker to meet new neighbors lol!
Wow, I didn't even realize that was possible. We only have an audio monitor with DD. We're planning on getting a video one for LO2. Glad to be aware that this can happen.
Sounds like Paranormal Activity! ~shudder~ I would've flipped my shit. I would give your neighbor a heads up just so she also doesn't have a heart attack if the same thing happens.

That's super creepy! My heart would have been racing. Sorry you had such a scare! I would definitely say something just so your neighbor doesn't have the same scare. At least this didn't happen to you though: https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3750675/

Oh my goodness! I thought you were about to say, and then I woke up from a nightmare....My heart would have sank! Thanks for letting us know this is possible. I had no idea either! I would definitely tell her although she might be taken aback by someone "seeing her" while having no clue! Good luck with that convo!

My friend told me about this last night. Holy crap!!! That's scary! I will not get one that connects to wifi. Awful!!
I think the ones that connect to wifi are actually safer, since they are password protected, its the ones that are on a radio frequency that anyone can see if they have a receiver set on that frequency. P.s. I'm not sure if it's called a radio frequency but that's the idea, I'm not tech savvy at all.
When I was a kid this would happen with the old radio style monitors. We'd listen to our funny sounding New Zealand neighbors for hours...never thought about it with these new monitors.

Oh...I didn't read that before posting.... so creepy! I guess nothing is safe!
This happened to me one time except I saw the other mom laying in bed with her daughter trying to put her to bed. Freaked.me.out! But I do love the video monitors so I just started unplugging the camera when we weren't using it.
You can get digitally secure monitors. Problem solved! We don't have one that hooks up to the internet or anything, either - the thought of someone seeing LO freaks me out.
DH's dad is a security specialist. We have hardcore protected cameras in LO's room. It's password protected and it notifys us immediately is someone try's to tap in. We also have security on our house, with LO's windows sensored. This will make me feel so much more secure without LO in our room.
Ugh that's awful! I immediately decided no video monitor when I hear about the wifi hacking issue. I know there are ways to keep it safe, but my dad raised me watching every dateline special and after an awful incident in my last apartment, I am not risking any type of hack. Luckily I live on a farm, know all my immediate neighbors and everyone else is far away. Old school monitor for us still.
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
