Blackout curtains?

Keep reading about blackout curtains. Where do you buy them? I purchased blackout drapes and my room is still not dark. Thanks

  • I got them at target. I have seen them at BRU too recently. Amazon has the best selection of colors :)

I just saw them in their store. Might just be a regional item? Who knows. I just know they had them cause they had the color pink I need and I almost bought them. But we really didn't need blackout curtains until my son was 1 (his second summer) so I held off on buying.

  • Eclipse is my favorite brand. Kohls had lots of colors.
     DS1 8/2011. DS2 8/2013.

  • I got a temporary light filtering shade.. It was like 3 bucks at target. I like this option bc you can cut it to the size you need, it's super cheap, temporary, and lets just the right amount of light in. They're not as effective as blackout curtains, but we need to use them in our room bc DH works night shift and I hate not waking up to the sun :-(

Bed Bath and Beyond.  When I lived up north these were a must to keep the light from the snow out of the house at night.  I've also seen these in the mall (I think JC Penny's?), Walmart, and Target, but the best ones I got were from BBB.  They have several types.  Some are really stiff, though.  And the darker the color of the curtain the better they work.

Now that we're down South I just got a cheap blackout shade from Lowe's that's mounted behind the valance in LO's room.  We don't need it in the rest of the house.
