Any Progress

Hey ladies, I know most of us have had some hair loss.
Has anyone tried using Keratin/Bioten vitamins to help?
Have you decided to wait it out and try protective hair styles?

I have the pills mentioned above and may start taking them, I don't think it would harm any.

Sorry if this update/follow up have been discussed, he been a lurker due to longer work hours.

Re: Any Progress

  • I Have been waiting it out, luckily I have thick hair but my vacuum is taking a beating. I read somewhere, maybe it was here, that it is your hormones going back to normal. I will be happy if that is true!

  • I've been taking biotin for a few months now. It's doing nice things for my nails but not much for my hair.
    BFP #1: due 6/17/2013, DD born 6/25/13
    BFP #2: due 6/30/2017, MMC found 12/7/2016
    BFP #3: due 10/21/2018
  • It happens around 4-5 months for a few weeks, slows down or stops for a few months and then starts again for another spurt around 8 months. At least that's the norm. Don't worry, it doesn't last forever. Mine happened from 4-5 months last time and then totally stopped and I'm in the thick (or thin?) of it now this time. It's only because when you were pregnant your body is trained to NOT shed hair and it holds on to everything. So this is essentially 9 months worth of shedding at once. And why pregnancy hair looks so thick- it is!

I loved my thick hair. Like you guys, mine started 4
Months PP, I like to blame this on my job from the stress. But I know is hormonal which is why I thought the vitamins wouldn't work. My husbands mother is a naturalist and herbalist and believe in full moons... Healing. She suggested I clip my ends on the next full moon and take the vitamins.
I'm not a believer but I'll do anything at this point.

Thanks, I will let you guys know how it work.
