Tips for travelling with LO?

We are travelling to Punta cana on the 26th of this month for a wedding on a resort. DS is coming with us for the week. Does anyone have any tips or advice for travelling on a plane with LO or for being in a hot climate?

Brody was born on September 23, 2013 at 6.33am weighing 8lb 14oz.

    For the plane just make sure to nurse, feed , or give DS a pacifier during take off and landing to help with ears popping. Your baby will probably sleep most of the time, but I would still bring a soft book and toy for them to be kind of entertained by at this age.

    For the hot climate, just be sure to not overdress baby and keep them covered from the direct sunlight since they shouldn't be using sunblock until they are at least six months old unless there's no way around them not having to be in the sun.

    Have fun! It's really not bad at all traveling with an infant in comparison to trying to entertain a toddler for the flight!

    One of the moms in my mommy and me group recently traveled with her LO by herself. She asked the airline if she could have a row to herself and since the plane was only 50% booked they granted her request. She was able to take her LOs car seat and she was also able to change his diaper right there instead of using the bathroom. She also mentioned that she double diapered him to prevent a blowout. She nursed him during takeoff and landing to help with his ears. He slept the whole both there and back, about 4 hours.

    As far as managing the luggage, she wore her LO in a carrier and put all the luggage on a smart cart and some other bags on a stroller, that way she had two hands to push everything. She checked the stroller in with the luggage but said if they have room she could have stored it on the plane somehow. She was able to walk through security wearing LO, they didn't make her take him off, which I thought was nice.
