Tommee Tippee bottles

What do you think of them? And is anyone using them and exclusively FF? Not sure i will need a bottle with a wide nipple if Im not BFing.

The nipples on them kept collapsing in DS's mouth. The little vent keeps closing on itself. They even address this in the FAQ section on their site since it's such a common complaint, but it sounds like they won't be changing the design to fix it and expect customers to constantly check and re-open the valve before each feeding. This makes it impossible for me use these bottles out of the house, since I'd have to touch the inside of the nipple right before giving it to DS, and thus would have to have a place to wash my hands. I wouldn't be comfortable just using sanitizer if I'm touching parts that are going directly in his mouth.

We love them that's the first one we tried. At first I was bf and he never got confused, but we had to supplement formula (then bf went downhill) so we ff only. We had the nipple collapse just a few times and he's going to be a month old tomorrow but I've learned that as long as the air hole is on top it's very rare for this issue nor does it upset DS. Also once you take it out of their mouth a little it goes right back instantly.

I hate those bottles. They gagged the little boy I was watching because the nipples were so long, the funky bottle shape made it had to empty the bottle and you would have to lay baby flat to empty the bottle and then the same shape made them fun to wash. The nipples also broke down really fast and needed replaced often.

For the price, I was not happy with them.

Dd is only close to 7 weeks but these are the bottles we've used when she gets pumped milk. I like that it has the bare minimum of parts which is why I tried this one first over other bottles. The shape is a bit odd, making it hard to empty at the end like pp said. I have had any nipple trouble with it.

We BF but used those bottles when giving pumped milk and I couldn't stand them. Like other PPs said, the nipples collapse a lot and it's nearly impossible to get the last bit out! We switched to the wide neck dr. Browns and LOVE those! Extra parts, but I still think they are easy to use and wash!

My DS really disliked those bottles. We ended up switching to Dr. Brown and both my kids love them.

I got a ton of them at my baby shower because that is what the lactation consultant at BRU recommended them, because I knew I would only be breast feeding for about 2 months while I was on maternity leave. LO hates them. She chokes on formula anytime I have tried to use them. Dr browns has been a life saver for transitioning from breast to bottle

I used them with DS and now DD. We've never had problems with them.

I also agree with the other ladies about Dr Browns bottles. My LO went from breastfeeding to formula and they were the only bottles that would work. Plus she has reflux and the bottles help with that as well.

I EBF, and pump 1-2 bottles a day so DH can feed LO and we use these. No problems and we've only ever used these.

DD is only 5 wks old we recently started using these when I pump. We haven't had an issue with them so far. I really like how there isn't a lot of parts to wash. I used Dr.Browns with my son and he done really well on them but I hated all the parts to the bottle u had to keep up with and wash. I'm hoping we continue to do well on the tommee tippee if not I will go back to the Dr.Browns.

I use them when we give expressed milk, and we love them. It is hard to get the last bit out, but it's such a small amount that I've never been too concerned with it. We've never had any problems with nipples collapsing.

We use these and haven't had any issues. I love the shape, it makes them so easy to hold. They are also very easy to clean and assemble. I EP and recently got the anti colic ones that have helped tremendously with his gas.

I have been using the TT bottles when I do a bottle every now and again and I have no complaints. I haven't noticed the nipple collapsing and the last little bit I just tilt it into the nipple..problem solved.

My son uses them and likes them better than every other bottle we've tried. I BF occasionally, but mostly pump with supplemental formula. We have also tried Avent bottles, MAM, Lansinoh, and Playtex. He prefers TT over all the other bottles.

Love them! My LO had a hard time getting a good seal/latch on all the other brands. Have yet to encounter a problem with TT

I love them ! Never had the collapse issues. I heard that can be caused by having the lid on too tight.

I hated them at first because of how they're shaped - it makes them awkward to hold. However, I noticed that DS slowed down and had to work to get the milk out which helps his gas and reflux. With others, he's able to get an ounce down almost as soon as the bottle goes in. I plan on getting more.

Also, if you register with Target, you get a Tommee Tippee bottle in your registry package thing. It's worth it to register just for that, imo.

Thanks, everyone. Has anyone had an issue of milk dripping out of the venting? I heard that to prevent that you need to hold it so the vent is at the baby's nose. I can see that being an issue whem the baby starts to hold the bottle themselves.

It wouldn't vent properly the other way. As the vent would be covered by the milk or formula. It will leak a small amount if upside down.

It only leaks if the vent is completely down- my pediatrian recently told me not to let baby hold their own bottle or take it to bed as it leads to poor sleep habits (waking and looking for bottle) - had never heard it before but thought I'd pass it on

We have only used TT, I EP so they get used a lot. Milk doesn't seem to drip out of the vent. I'm always sure to keep it at the top but family members don't usually know that and we've never had an issue. I love the bottles b/c of how slowly the milk comes out. We bought the next size up during her 12 week growth spurt, when she was getting frustrated with the slow flow, but went back to the newborn size to prevent reflux.
