leaking diapers

Good morning!

I've been using pampers swaddlers from day one. Occasionally my daughter would leak out the back at night when she slept. She just grew out of size 1 and is in the 2. At night she sleeps much longer and kicks her feet up a lot. I've been finding she is is leaking much more more now(only the back nit the sides) through her sleep gown, swaddle, sheets, and mattress pad! I'm looking for a new brand. Any suggestions?

Re: leaking diapers

  • I agree with PP that the best diaper can depend in the baby's shape. We use Earth's Best and have been happy with them so far. We have had some leaks (mostly out the leg holes but a couple up the back), but they are pretty rare and seemingly random, so we're sticking with them for now. LO is starting to sleep longer at night, though, so if leaking becomes a problem, we'll look into other brands.

  • Change her more and or size up for nights.

  • We have also been using earth's Best and find they work well for us. Although he wears a size two even though he is in the middle if the weight range for size one. He sleep up to nine hours at night and still no leaks.

  • We are transitioning to cloth, but for disposables target brand worked best.

  • Good morning! I have always had the best luck with huggies. Pampers did the same thing to us.

  • We're using baby dry at the moment. She's been going back to longer stretches at night and they really hold up to the amount of pee she puts out.

DD only weighs ~10 lbs but has been in Earth's Best size 2 for about a week. The package says size 2 is for 12-18 lbs, but the size 1s are definitely too small. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.

  • Target has been the best for us.
  • My LO started leaking pee up her back when we started Pampers size 2 as well. I figured out that the absorbent part doesn't go up high enough in the back. So now we place the back of her diaper up higher, just above her belly button, with the front down a little lower. Problem solved!

Same here, definitely Target. We have not had one leak while using them. The worst, at least for my LO, is huggies. Many a poor onesie has been destroyed thanks to the blowouts that happen with those!

  • I really rely on Luvs nightlock diapers for bedtime. They have never leaked and LOs clothing has been dry since I switched to them. (I tried many because LO would scream anytime he wet himself at night) then Huggies during the day because I like the stretchy back. Seems to "catch" a lot more IMO.
  • We also started with pampers swaddlers, but changed to Baby Dry. They are much more absorbent and haven't had a leak yet.
  • I use cloth during the day, but at night we use Wegmans disposables and love them. When she starts to leak, we go up a size.

  • Pampers swaddlers are the best for our LO. Have you tried Luvs? They have pretty good reviews.

  • Sorry to thread jack but for those of you who use disposables, how do you decide when it's time to size up? We CD but I left some Pampers at the sitter's in case the CDs I send for the day aren't enough. He's between 14-15 pounds and the size 1 still seem to work fine without leaking and when I close the tabs they still almost touch (he had a little diaper rash so we used disposables a couple days ago). Just wondering what makes you size up.
@HauntedRadio We start having the occasional blow out when it's time to size up. She also seems to be uncomfortable for some unexplained reason, I try the next size up and all is well so we go with that. She's super picky though (like her dad) she complains if she's even just a little bit wet. She'll always let you know when her clothes are too tight or anything like that.

I was wondering the same thing! We CD full time, so I was curious about the whole sizing thing...

This worked for us, we tried something other than the swaddlers and nothing was as good. We just wear a size up at night.

  • We use the Costco Kirkland brand or huggies when we run out. Kirklands she's in a size 3 now and they are great. She started leaking out of the 1/2's so we knew it was time for a size up
