is this a phase?

I need a quick vent: My formerly happy baby has turned into a clingy, cranky baby for the last week and a half. Granted she was diagnosed with a UTI last Sunday and is on meds...she no longer has a fever, is eating well and STTN.  But she cranky all day and does not want to be put down ;(  I feel bad for her but now Im feeling bad for me, I had to shed a few tears this morning when she was wailing in the carseat.

I cant tell if this is a phase or its bc of the UTI....I feel like pulling my hair out - we are both miserable.

Any one else's babies clingy and wont go to other people?

Re: is this a phase?

  • M definitely has her moments as well.  She's been battling a snuffy nose for quite a few days not.  Hopefully once the UTI clears up your DD will get back to her happy self.

  • Yup. Mine is super clingy to me. Especially on work days. I can't put her down without her crying once I pick her up from DC. I don't think it's a phase for us though because she's always been a mommy's girl. I attribute it to the boobs ;)

  • Might be due to her being sick, especially if you held her a lot when she wasn't feeling well. I have to undo those by just sitting in the floor with Z and playing with him. after a while he becomes ok again. and sometimes he just has to cry :)

  • My LO was sick last week and she was like this while she was sick and for a couple of days after... Now she's back to normal, so it might be just a phase for you too.
  • H has been very clingy and moody this week, so perhaps it's a developmental thing, too.

  • Our little ones are in the middle of a leap. It is a developmental phase that is normal and may be exacerbated by your LO's illness. I had been wearing mine a lot in a ringsling lately, until my MIL moved in last week. Now she wants to play with my LO all the time.
