6 hours in L&D due to fall, now home!

So yesterday around lunch time I was walking and slipped outside my hair salon and fell into a hole. As embarrassing as it was I stood up and seemed to be fine.

I drove home, but around and hour and a half later I started having some pain, and heavy discharge (TMI) so I decided it was better safe than sorry to go to L&D.

Once there, around 4, my contractions were about ten minutes apart, they hooked me
Up to the monitor to check baby and drew blood to do a test to see if baby's blood was mixing with mine due to the fall. I had to wait 2 hours for the results.

In the two hours of waiting, my pain increased and my contractions were coming every 2-4 minutes lasting 45+ seconds each. I was checked and I went from 0 dilation and 0 effacment to 1cm dilated and 80 percent effaced.

The test results came back and the baby's blood was not mixing with mine, which was good news. Alsoy water had not broken. However they kept me for another 6 hours of monitoring to determine if I was in labor. After 6 hours of contractions 2-4 minutes apart my body was no longer changing or responding to them. My doctor determined I was in early labor.

However, baby looked good and was t hurt from the fall, but I had been measuring 2 weeks plus some behind in my last two appointments, so they discharged me to go home and gave me ambien to help rest. Now I have a growth scan on Monday to check on baby (if I don't go into labor before then) and make sure he is growing well!

Just wanted to share my experience. I was a little worried about the fall, and still a little worried about the growth scan, but I'm glad they say that they think he is doing fine :)

I learned my lesson though: i had no hospital bag packed or my car seat in the car...that's changing today! ;)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!
