Baby Name Poll

in 3rd Trimester
Hi Everyone,

I'm due December 17th, and my husband and I have agreed on a first name for our little girl, but we can't agree on a middle name. He likes Claira Skye, but I like Claira Grace. We're both okay with either name, we just each prefer the ones that we picked out.

So, I'd like to take a poll to settle the matter once and for all :) Let me know what you think!

    The spelling is awful.  Its a beautiful name please dont ruin it by spelling it weird.

    I'm an oddball but I prefer claira with the I. I don't know if I just knew someone with it spellef that way or something but to me it looks more "complete"?
    That said I like claira grace... :) I'm big on name meanings too so I'd considet the meaning of each name...

    I really thought you typo'd Claire twice. Claira is ridiculous. Clara is lovely. My name is very similar to Clara, and if my mom put a random "i" in my name, I'd be pissed.

    Clara Grace sounds better than Clara Skye, but Grace is just the go-to middle name right now. Nothing special about it.

    Yes, it's pronounced Claire-a, but I'm pretty sure that's how Clara is pronounced also.

    I really like Clara Skye.  Clara is very common these days; as is Grace.  I appreciate pairing a more common name with something more unique.

    You think so? I haven't heard of any other Clara's.
    Also, Grace is a family name. It was my Great Grandma's name, as well as my nickname growing up (I've always been a klutz, so my parents thought it was ironic haha)

    Personally I like Claira Skye when comparing the two names side by side. I agree with some PP that Grace is very common. This is your LO so you get to choose how to spell Claira. It's not like you'll ruin the name for the rest of eternity if you spell it differently than how other people prefer. Pick the one that has the most meaning to you both, or you can just have a dramatic game of rock, paper, scissors with your DH to decide. Have fun!

    When I read Claira I was sounding it out in my head... it sounded something like Clay-ra, until I realized it was just an unusual spelling. I like the traditional spelling of Clara. Also I dont think it is as popular as some posters think. In fact, I cant remember ever knowing a single Clara outside of books. True, Grace is a common name... but I think it goes well with Clara and pairing a common with uncommon is not that bad.
