How are you recording/journaling/remembering baby's life?

Caleb is exactly a month old today and that freaks me out so much! I can't believe it's been this long already and I'm starting to feel afraid that I'm going to forget all of these special moments and developments happening.

I am a big scrapbooker, and I know I'll be doing one for him, but that isn't something I can do regularly right now, and my scrapbook style isn't heavy on the journaling anyway. I decided that I'm going to blog about it, since it'll keep me accountable and it'll be a fun way to keep our families up to date at the same time. And it'll be easy and fun to look back on someday!

What are you ladies doing to remember all the precious details? Journal? Baby book? Scrapbook? I'm curious to hear everyone's ideas :)

  • I have been writing in a journal to my baby since becoming pregnant. I haven't written in it for about a month, but I feel like that a monthly entry is a good way to document my feelings and to tell about what is going on.

  • I had a pregnancy journal DH and I wore in, and we have a baby journal, too (the ones by Nikki McClure) that we write in periodically. Also, most days I make a couple notes in the journal part of the baby tracking app we user, then transcribe them into the journal when I have time.

  • I have a calendar. A friend sent me one when DS was born and I bought another off Amazon. It's a one year, baby journal calendar. It's great because it's easy. I leave in on the kitchen counter ad right in milestones on the dates they happen.

  • I take a lot of pictures and try to blog when I can, although I haven't taken many in the past couple weeks since he screams if I put him down/take him off my boob, and I've got enough of his crying face for now. My plan is to make albums for all my kids but I'm about 5 years behind in that project. I should probably get started soon...

  • I keep a note in my phone and jot down the date and whatever it is I would like to remember whether its a milestone or just a fun memory. I will eventually compile everything into his baby book but for now it's easy and convenient.

  • Just bought a photo album/scrapbook. My Dad is a photographer so my life has been told in pictures. I'm trying to do the same with this LO.

  • One of the ladies on here recommended 'my own little story' when I asked for memory book recommendations. It's a really nice baby book you create online. You can write what you want and upload pics. They email you reminders too during milestones which is nice. Once done I'll print 5 books. One for me and DH, one for DHs mum and stepdad, one for my mum, one for my dad and one for LO when she grows up.
  • Baby book, photo album that I can easily put pics in as I print them or people give them to me, and emails. I set up an email address for LO so DH and I can send her little stories. We haven't decided when we will tell her about it and give her th info to get into it.

  • I send her e-mails. I created a gmail account for her and send e-mails when I can :) I'll attach pictures, videos and e-mails from other relatives.
  • I write in a journal to her. I keep a baby book (more for tradition's sake since my mother did one for me). And I take at least one photo of her each day to create a time lapse video of her first year. I've finished one month already and it's super cool to watch her face change! I plan on debuting the little video at her first birthday party.
  • I started a little journal during the end of my pregnancy when I was too big to enjoy doing much and I wrote in it a couple times a week the first month after I had him and now I try to write every 2 weeks or when something really special happens.

  • I have a baby book and scrap book, but for now I am writing in my calendar/journal each night before I go to sleep to document the day in the life of Sophia!
