Episiotomy Question

I apologize for my ignorance, this question might sound silly to some. I had an episiotomy when I gave birth to my daughter on Tuesday. I sat up quickly yesterday and the pain has become worse than it has been. Is it possible to tear the sutures placed during the procedure?

    I felt like mine were tearing a couple times but they never did. Well at least significantly... I guess I didn't look at them often. They did take over 6 weeks to heal!
