So I'm 19 weeks right now and I was talking with a co worker the other day. She heard I was eating spicy foods and just about died. She started going on about I should not be eating spicy peppers/ hot sauce because it would cause my baby to go blind. Now I had never heard this and thought it was crazy! I mean think of all the cultures that eat nothing but spiced up dishes, they aren't all blind! She wouldn't listen to reason at all about it and sometimes I purposely eat hot stuff in front of her to get a rise ( all in good fun). I also had a friend that said she was told never to drink hot liquids before breastfeeding cause you could burn the baby's mouth. So this got me wondering what crazy advice you have been given?
Re: Funny/ off the wall advice
But the hot liquids while breastfeeding is actually a good rule, because you don't want to spill the hot drink, accidentally, on baby... I can kinda see how that one could get twisted. But it's funny how people don't use common sense for so many of these "words of wisdom."
