My DD rolled over?

While I said all along she had great head control, today during tummy time she rolled from her tummy to her back. She will only be 3 weeks old on Sunday! I almost videoed it because I had a feeling but she rolled over to quick. She then did it a second time. I didn't think they started this rolling over stuff so soon. It was really cool cuz DH got to see it too!

  • My DD rolled to her side last week when she was 4 weeks old.
  • my son did this at 4 days old at pediatrician just from being pissed off. he is a lunatic lol

Lol... I know it's not rolling over like I know she couldn't roll back onto her tummy at this point, but it was still surprising.

haha no i think at 3 weeks it's possible to start 'really' doing it!

  • My son started rolling on his side in the hospital. Now he rolls from back to side then to tummy. He will roll over a couple of times if he's upset. He is almost 6 weeks and he also turns when he is sleeping. I can lay him vertical on his back and he will roll to his side then turn horizontal over a period of time.
  • My first DS rolled consistently at 3 weeks! Makes tummy time interesting!

  • I was just reading on baby center it was talking about babies "rolling over" at 4 to 5 months.

  • DD2 is really moving her hips like Shakira so I have a feeling rolling isn't too far behind. Dammit, stay my cute, chubby, immobile newborn!!

My DD was crawling at 5 months. So yeah. She was rolling both ways well before then. We will see what DD2 does.

When I was a baby I was walking around 8 months, so I was definitely rolling over way before 5 months.

My son did this at 8 days and again at 12. I have a video of it. I was shocked!! When i set him on his belly though his hands were under him and not to the side so that may have helped. But seriously, both times I set him on his belly.. And less than 10 seconds later he was on his back! No struggle at all.

I was gonna video, but wasn't sure she really was gonna roll over. At least Daddy got to see it! I'll have my camera ready next time.

That is crazy to me because DS didn't roll over until the day he turned 6 months old. Well, he also didn't walk until 15 months old.

He mu son didn't crawl until 12 months and walked at 18 . I was a day away from calling early intervention haha

  • Once they roll over at all that means no more swaddling right?
