Help!

I am five weeks post-surgery and I haven't gotten my period. We haven't had sex.

I took a Pregnancy test today to see if it would come back positive. I was sure that it wouldn't. However, fly weeks later and it still reads pregnant. Is this normal? I feel like I must-have retained products or something? Ugh... Thoughts??

I guess I need to call my ob again.

So sorry about your loss and sorry to hear this is upsetting you. I do not have experience with this, but my doctor did get an hcg level (urine and blood) before my d&e. If they did the same for you, maybe they can check that it is decreasing?

I'm sorry for your loss :-(

I just had my d&c f/u appt today and know they are checking my hcg levels (blood test). I think this could give you a false positive. My dr told me if mine are not where they should be, then I will have to come back in 3 weeks to have them re-tested.

My d&c was on 9/24 and the last beta I had drawn on 10/1 was 7. I think you should call your doctor and demand to have bloodwork/ultrasound to see if there is any remaining tissue. I had a negative HPT on 10/4 but I had also passed most of the pregnancy on 8/14 when they gave me misprostol. I still haven't gotten my first AF and it's been 4 weeks since I had a negative HPT. I'm in the same boat

I'm trying misoprostol (just got the prescription yesterday), so the guidelines may be slightly different than surgery. My midwife is having come in for blood work every week until I get back to negative. She said to expect it to take 3-4 weeks. I would definitely check it out like you are, but it might depend on just how high your levels got in the first place?

Same boat here. I had a D&C 10/8 and my HCG was 100 yesterday

I get more lab work done next week. FX your levels drop quickly and your cycles regulate! So sorry you are having this drag out

I had a D&C on 9/28 (I was 10w, but fetus stopped growing at 6w). I never had my baseline checked or had my HCG tracked either. I took just shy of 4 weeks to get a negative HPT with a test that reads at 25miu.

I do not think it would hurt to give your doctor a call and ask to see if you can have a blood draw to see where your HCG is at now. That, or you could wait 3 or 4 days and test again and see if the test is getting lighter.

As for getting your period post miscarriage, it can take weeks or months for your body to regulate, it can seem like forever. Hang in there and good luck!

I'm going in today- she said it may have a molar pregnancy. Have to go in and get blood drawn today and every few days until hcg is at zero...

I had d&c at 15 weeks. They said they don't normally draw levels after a d&c

5 weeks post d&c and my levels are at a 9... They want to draw again next week.

Anyone have any insight??

Less than 5 is negative. Should be there by next week. Some bodies just take a little longer but things should start returning to normal physically.

Okay so here's an update...
Now 7 weeks post d&c ...

At 6.5 weeks post I got terrible terrible cramps and heavy flow with clots. It it lasted 3-4 days. My hcg is still at a 6 my dr just said. So... Was that my period or not?!?
Can you get a period if your hcg is still at a 6??

D&C on oct 2 and I was still peeing positive this past Sunday even though I got my first AF. Took one yesterday and it finally came up negative. Are the tests getting lighter?

It was most certainly BRiGHT red so I guess it was my period?
