Happy Friday! Big welcome to the new mamas who have joined us, and a few ladies who have rejoined us. And congrats again to CarrieB on the newest member of her family.

GL to those TTCing, and FX for those awaiting tests. Get well wishes to those who are sick.

Does anyone here have a long weekend? What are your plans for the weekend? Hope you all have a good one.

QOTW: what are your thanksgiving plans? How many people will be at thanksgiving meal?

I'm posting this early b/c I'll probably be too busy to post tomorrow. I'm wiped out from flying solo this past 2 days ( esp screamfest at bedtime).

Tomorrow is M's birthday! I'll be picking my parents up at the airport, get them checked in at the hotel, then bring them to our place for the afternoon. DH will be home by 2 or 3 pm.

Saturday DH will clean the house in advance of M's party, and he'll put up decorations. I'll be busy cooking. May need to do one more trip to grocery store to get more food, depending on whether this couple we invited will come or not.

Sunday is the party! I know M doesn't care one way or the other, but the party is really for DH and I - we made it through the first year!

QOTW: We're hosting T'giving for the first time. Tradition has been celebrating at ILs' house. They sold their house recently and will be moving out to the Boston area 1 week before T'giving. So it makes more sense to have it at our place. It'll only be 5 adults + M.

Long weekend: we're taking the twins to Disney World.

We're driving, which should be an adventure in and of itself...also sharing a hotel room with MIL, so cramped quarters. But I'm excited!

QOTW: we're going on a cruise with 20 people from DH's family (and my mom).

Why do I do these things with 16-17 month old twins? They are too young to get in the pool or go to the kids' activities on the cruise ship...no idea how I'm going to entertain them.

Being on maternity leave, I forgot it was even a holiday weekend! Nothing huge planned. Tonight I'm taking my mom and grandma to Costco (woo!) and then tomorrow night were going to look at a house. Won't do anything til we get an offer on ours, but still looking. MIL is coming at some point (again...) to visit LO.

QOTW: since LO is still on o2, we probably won't stray too far from home. My ILs celebrate a couple hours away, but my family is local. There will be about 15-17 of us and four kids. Super relaxed and chill.

No long weekend for me

Not a ton of plans either - Book Club tonight. Haven't read the book, but I"m still going. Typically book club = TONS of wine, but I don't know if I have it in me. We had friends over last Sat night and the exhaustion I had on Sunday coupled with a child who wouldn't nap was BRUTAL.

That's really the only thing on the docket. DH and I were actually trying to come up with fun ideas for something to do tomorrow. It's so weird to not have much going on, we've been so busy for the past month and a half. Maybe we'll do some work around the house.... We have plenty that could be done!

oooh I forgot the QOTW - I'm still bitter about Thanksgiving. I posted about it a while back - typically we host it, but my mom hijacked it this year since her SIL is coming. (BLAH). It's going to SUCK. I expect a whole lot of of tension as my mom and step dad will rush around, completely overwhelmed. Probably some snapping in the mix as well. There will be 7 adults, and 3 kids and we'll all be crammed in my moms condo squished around the table with freezing cold food that my stepfather has probably already made! It'll be delightful - really. Try not to be jealous

@ashleymarie512 - hope you get an offer on your house soon. I didn't realize your LO is still on oxygen? For how much longer? Hope it gets weaned off soon.

@JBDamonM - sorry about your T'giving plans, I did remember your post from a while ago. I hope everyone can chill out and enjoy what T'giving is about. I had a bad T'giving last year, but hoping this year will be much better.

we're going back to the pedi on Monday for a room air check to see if she can be weaned down a little bit. I know it sounds bad, but I can't wait for her to be off of it. I know if she needs it, it's best for her, but it's so cumbersome with being tethered and not able to move around easily. Anyway, hopefully she's able to come down a little.

Also, thanks for the offer vibes--we're really hoping something comes soon!

I work monday, but was off today so still sort of a long weekend. We were invited to a BBQ at our new neighbors for Saturday so that's fun! And we got an offer on our house today, and that's great news. I think we are going to accept it. That's about all we have planned. And more unpacking.
QOTW: We are doing thanksgiving at my ILs this year. There will be about 10 of us, only 2 kids, E and her cousin who is 5.

Well tomorrow is my birthday, woot. So tonight a small group of us are going to a restaurant called The Works. It's a gourmet burger place, I'm so excited about it. The menu has 50 different types of burgers!!

Then Saturday my sister and I are re-creating some old pictures of her and I for my mom for Christmas. I've seen it done online and it looks hilarious! My mom is gonna love it! Then it's dinner at my mom's for my birthday.

And when I said that's it's my birthday tomorrow, it's also my MIL, my SIL, my aunt-in-law and my uncle-in-law birthday tomorrow as well. With a DH's cousin on the 6th. SO we are having a huge birthday party on Sunday for everybody. It sounds neat, but it actually sucks sharing your birthday with a million people.

TGIF, in a huge way! This week was so stinking long. We are heading to Houston tomorrow for pictures for Christmas cards and then hitting up the zoo. Tomorrow night we'll head to where DH's grandmother lives and meet her for lunch Sunday.

No long weekend for me but I wish it were. My birthday is Monday and I'd rather not spend it with a certain 12 year old that thinks he's the king of the school.

QOTW: DH is on call Thanksgiving day so we are meeting his family Friday evening and my family Saturday. We hosted one year when DH was on call (he's been on call for this holiday three years in a row) and it was horrible. MIL criticized everything in her own little way and left a huge mess (my SIL helped me clean) so I said never again.

We've had a good week. MIL has been here and I've gotten tons of stuff done - nothing that fun more like dental work, haircut, dog groomer, etc. stuff that is a pain to drag J along.

DH and I finally had our first date solo since J arrived. We went to happy hour this evening at the local wine bar. It was fun!

Saturday evening I'm going solo to a party at my girlfriends house. I'm excited because I told DH on our date that I really miss my friends. He told me to schedule stuff and he could put J down.

MIL leaves Sunday. I will miss my free baby sitter/chef/buddy

Got home from the hospital on Friday around noon and we just barely survived our first night as a family of 4. Our plans for the weekend are just to relax and try to see if Baby I will sleep.

I really need some Starbucks.
