Where does LO sleep?

I'm curious to see where everyone's LO's sleep. With DS (now age 4), he hardly ever slept in his crib and mostly co-slept in our bed until age 3 (he still comes to our bed in the middle of the night on occassion). DD has been sleeping in her crib since about 10 weeks. She's a much better sleeper than her big brother ever was but still wakes a couple times a night. I nurse her once in the middle of the night and she always goes right back to sleep.

Re: Where does LO sleep?

  • At night he starts out in his bassinet then after he nurses, he stays in bed with us. We've always co-slept til a year then we transfer to a toddlers bed. during the day, he either sleeps on the couch or the swing. Once he hits 6 months I'll try to get him in his crib during the day.

He naps in his crib during the day, but when it's bedtime he sleeps with us in our bed.

    Edited for spelling.

  • in his crib.. he's been in there since he was 5 days old.  He slept in his RnP and even his swing for naps sometimes, or he will sleep in his RnP in my room only when he is sick.

    SURPRISE! BFP: 12/2014 - EDD: 8/13/15

We made plans and God laughed

    DS: BFP: 9/30/12 - EDD: 6/9/13

Radley Quinn was fashionably late via induction on 6/17/13

  • She naps and sleeps in her crib. A few times a week she naps on the way home from daycare in her carseat.

    Exactly this.
  • She sleeps in her PnP by our bed and then co sleeps after her motn feeding. But I plan to try the crib tonight for the first part of the night :( it makes me kind of sad...
  • She's in a PnP in my room. I probably won't move her to her room until she's 6 months. I feel weird having her upstairs.

    Cribs since day one.
  • She starts off in the bassinet and then comes in to our bed, I'm trying to get her in the crib for her first stretch of sleep but it's not going well.

  • At night he's been in his crib since day 1. Naps are usually in the swing, on us, or car seat on the weekends (cause we are usually out and about, and he'll just fall asleep when he's tired). He does nap in his crib at daycare, but I haven't had much luck with naps in the crib at home.
  • He starts off in the bassinet in his room then comes into our bed at some point. I woke up this morning and I don't even remember how he got there. Usually DH gets him and makes a bedside delivery to my boob around the 3rd wake up! Also the bassinet should be a crib now, DH has just been lazy about getting the rest of the stokke sleepi kit out of the attic. Poor guy's head and toes are touching the ends!

  • He sleeps in his crib in our room but if he wakes up after 430/5am we bring him in bed with us

  • Dd in her crib since a month, DS in his crib since two weeks old. Got them to love their beds so there's no rough transition.
  • Crib.  He still naps in other places (mainly his bouncy chair and when I wear him in the Ergo), but we are working on transitioning those to the crib as well.  He is about 18 lbs and his chair is not going to work much longer.

  • At home he will sleep in his crib for naps and bedtime. At my moms, he sleeps in a PNP.

She's still next to our bed. Sometimes in our bed next to me. She was sleeping 8-9 hours regularly at 3m, but her sleep has gotten much worse recently. She fights sleep at 9, usually wakes up screaming around 11or 12, then sleeps next to me for a couple hours, then wakes to eat around 5 or 6, and back to sleep until 9ish.

Her big sister was sleeping 12 hours in the crib by 2m. So, yeah, I feel ya, OP!

  • He sleeps in the co sleeper next to my side of the bed at night.  He is not a very good sleeper and for the past month has been waking up every few hours so him being in the co sleeper right next to me makes it a lot easier.  Sometimes I will try and bring him in bed with me to get an extra hour of sleep in the mornings but he doesn't sleep well like that.  During the day he takes naps in the RnP.  We are going to start transitioning to the crib next month.

  • He's still in the PNP in our room, but will be going into his crib in his room soon. (I keep saying that, but it hasn't happened yet.)

  • Still in co-sleeper but he's out growing it, hoping to transition to crib next week.

  • RnP next to my bed.  I also have a PnP in my room but he wants no part of it.  I plan on moving him into his crib in his room by the end of this month.

  • In her crib next to our bed for nighttime and naps. We are planning to move her and her crib to her nursery when she can roll over both ways. Right now she just goes back to tummy an gets stuck and wakes us up to roll her over. I don't want to have to walk to her nursery to do that; it's so much easier right by our bed.

He sleeps in a P&P next to our bed. He is pretty easy going, so I don't think transitioning him to the crib would be an issue. I just like having him next to me still, damnit!

When we first quit using the swaddle, I thought we might have to change him to the crib then because he was stirring at every little movement we made. However, he got over that quickly and now sleeps just fine. I kind of don't want to switch him at all because I love having him near us, but we will probably switch him around Christmas.

I know my pediatrician was happy when we told her he still sleeps in our room. She said it's recommended for babies to sleep in the parents' room for the first six months because that is linked to lower SIDS rates.

ETA: For naps, he sleeps in the R&P though.
  • DS bed shares with DH and DD bed shares with me. I hold DD for all of her naps and DS sleeps on the couch for his one nap. We have never owned a crib.
  • In RnP or PnP in our room. He gets in bed with us early in the morning when he starts fussing.
  • PNP in our room on my side of the bed, I keep saying every weekend that we are going to try to put her in her crib but I can't get myself to do it. It makes me sad thinking about it.

  • In something sort of like this which I built.  His lower half usually sprawled onto our bed.

This, except he's in a bassinet at the moment.

ETA - he naps in his pack and play.

  • In his crib, all the time, since day two when we realized he was just too loud to be in our room.  Best decision we ever made.  We never had to transition to the crib because he was already there!
