Yep, last time I found out but this time I want to be surprised. Just really need diapers and there's plenty of time to get boy clothes after they are born. How many times do you get to be surprised in life?!
We did not find out with our first, and we aren't finding out with this one either. I can assure you it is worth the wait! That "it's a boy!" moment is something I will never forget and made all that pushing worthwhile
We were Team Green the first time and it was so worth it. @MrsLow is so right - that moment where they call out the sex is pure magic. Just amazing. Congrats and enjoy!
We decided a few weeks ago that we're not finding out the sex. I was on the fence, mainly for "what on earth will we do with the nursery?!" concerns, but we found the perfect gender neutral nursery set that I fell in love with, so Team Green we are!
I won't lie, I'm not-so-secretly hoping that since we're not finding out what we're having we'll get less clothes and more of the essentials at our showers.
I am excited for the moment when my boyfriend can tell me what it is. Also super excited for when we can tell the boys His 16 yo daughter will hopefully be in the room if she wants and can handle it
Our house is so small we will be unable to have a nursery till we move but I am all for the team green I also have told everyone I do not want a baby shower. After the baby is here we will have a bbq/shower. I just honestly do not want all yellow/green stuff I would rather wait and be able to introduce him/her to the family

If anything it should turn her off from having kids for a while.
I'm a FTM and totally team green!! I heard not knowing makes pushing that much more "fun" to get to the end result where the doctor tells you "it's a..." Also for our shower we are hoping to get more things on our list and not just clothes we won't use.
We found out with DD and DS. This LO was a complete surprise so I said why not make the gender a surprise! (Yes I know, it's a surprise at the u/s too, but I assume the reveal at delivery is waaaay more exciting).

We are team green and were with DS as well. Like many PP's, I have the BEST memory of the doctor yelling, "it's a baby boy!" (It was a c-section so DH couldn't be the one to tell me). When DH went into the waiting room to tell my family they went NUTS! The nurses had to ask them to be quiet and settle down. We talk about that day and the memory of finding out our son was a boy all the time.
We also found out what we were having the first time around but are opting for "team green" this time. Like others we will only need diapers and a new clothes if it ends up being a boy.
Okay, I'm not saying this to judge anyone that wants to wait ... you are more patient people than I could ever be! But, isn't it a "surprise" if you wait or not? Like, I found out yesterday (I'm almost 14 weeks) and I was super surprised! lol. I'm really just trying to be funny...
But seriously, where does the "team green" thing come from? Why green? Someone said it to me on this board a few days ago, and I thought they meant like, eco-friendly parenting. The comment was something like, "if you are team green people won't buy you as many clothes", which made sense to be eco-friendly. It took me reading a few other posts to get it meant "not finding out until the birth". I guess maybe i was expecting team yellow? I guess yellow for gender neutral is pretty played out ... I MUCH prefer green (we know we're having a boy and I am still planning on painting the room mint green ... a girl would have been the same).
Congrats on your baby! Whatever the sex, that's the least important part!
Dang all these stories of that magical moment make me wish I wasn't so impatient. To be honest I really didn't get why people said they wanted to be surprised. I thought, "Is it not a surprise at the gender scan?" but really it's the receiving the news at that spectacular moment of birth vs. finding out from an ultrasound tech.
I really want to wait and stay on Team Green, Hubby kind of wants to know sooner. I'm afraid he might talk me into it! I LOVE surprises, so really want to find out when we get to hopefully hold our little one in our arms, but it's true -- it will be a surprise no matter when we find out! It's funny that people say they hope they get less clothes at their shower, bc I actually love the showers I've been too where people bring the boy or girl clothes!!! They're all so cute! I'm not really as much of a fan of the gender-neutral clothes, but maybe that's just me. In any case, I will be excited no matter when we end up finding out!
Just talked with hubby and looks like we're going to wait too ! This is our first time !! We found out with both of our kids before so this is different for us !!
I'm not sure what gender my baby will identify with but I will be finding out the sex at the a/s and it will definitely be a surprised.
hunh?
Sex = male and female
Gender = masculine and feminine
So in essence:
Sex refers to biological differences; chromosomes, hormonal profiles, internal and external sex organs.
Gender describes the characteristics that a society or culture delineates as masculine or feminine.
So like I said, not sure what gender my baby will associate with, but I will be finding out the sex at the a/s and it will be a surprise.
It will be a surprise because unfortunately I am not as much as a psychic as I wish I was...
Gag. Eye roll. Sex, gender, same thing. Don't be so pompous. It's annoying.
We will find out the GENDER at the anatomy scan as well. My husband said he would never want to be team green because it would be too stressful. I think if we had one of each SEX, it'd be fun to be surprised with the next one.

Congrats and enjoy!
