Baby wearing

I have a 2 year old and a 4 month old. My 4month old loves the ergo. I have tried a maya I'm not a huge fan. I'm loving the idea do the moby(?) with the long material you just wrap, but don't know where to start. I can't just fork over $150. Any ideas suggestions?

  • I absolutely love my Moby. Are you thinking they cost $150? Because Moby's are usually betweeb $30-50 depending on design. I got my plain black one on amazon for $30.

  • I really love my BabyHawk mei tai.  It has a body and then long tails to wrap around your body.  It is quite easy to get the knack for wrapping it.  This carrier is great for newborns until toddlers.  I do love my Moby for the newborn phase but also find it quite hot.  I also find that I don't tend to use it as much because my oldest would get so upset by the time I got her in it.  She was colicky though so that's a whole other story.  The mei tai was much quicker to put on!

  • Infantino makes a $30 mei tai that you can buy at walmart/target/amazon and I love mine! I prefer it to my woven wrap.

Yes, but a woven wrap does cost $150, and a stretchy wrap like a Moby is most definitely already outgrown by a typical 4 month old in terms of it being comfortable for the wearer.

There is a bargain baby carriers swap on facebook where you might be able to find a used woven under $100. I would recommend a woven if you really want a wrap.

Some DIY moms swear by a long piece of onasburg fabric as a wrap as well.

This is what I'm talking about thanks! I will look into this!
