Anyone else's gums barely starting to kick in with the bleeding? I have not had any bleeding from my mouth until the last few times I've brushed and its pretty bad.
Very common side effect of pregnancy. I find that if I am very good at flossing every single night, I can stay on top of the bleeding but if I miss a day or 2 the bleeding is back with full force. My dental hygienist said it is called pregnancy gingivitis.

Thanks for this info! I have been having this and wondering why. Didn't realize it was pregnancy related, didn't have it with my first. At this point I guess I should know that pregnancy causes everything...
Oh, me too! I went to the dentist yesterday for a cleaning and they assured me this is super normal. They suggested really gentle brushing where I'm bleeding to 'stimulate my gums' and flossing. The tendency with bleeding gums is to avoid that area altogether, but I guess a little extra attention is actually beneficial. Also, gargling with salt water or a baking soda rinse seems to help.
I started using Thera Breath Perio Therapy a few weeks ago and it made a huge difference right away. It is designed for sensitive and bleeding gums. There is a toothpaste and a mouthwash, I use both. Some larger drugstores have it, as well as Target or look for it online. Highly recommend! Packaging looks like this.
