Induction is the worst!

I've only been here for 7 hours and I already can't stand it! The nurses are great but being hooked up to all the monitors is so obnoxious and could they make this bed any less comfortable?! Oh yea and they won't let me out of bed because of my blood pressure. Is matter of hours I went from a totally functional adult to a bed bound cripple.

I haven't even gotten to the hard part yet and I already want to cry! I haven't had trouble sleeping all pregnancy and tonight I'm so tired and uncomfortable and I can't sleep. Whaaa :(( :((

Re: Induction is the worst!

  • Ahhh GL!! I was getting restless waiting for my doc to check me and come up with an induction plan (my water broke this AM) but after reading this I'm scared @-)

Best of luck!! You can do this!!!

  • Maybe try some music and go to a zen place. Being hooked up to monitors stinks. Hang in there. You're having a baby today!!

  • Can you at least sit on a ball or stand up for awhile? I hated being hooked up to all that stuff too. Hope things are progressing for you!

  • Good Luck!  You can do it!

  • I completely feel for you - being hooked up to the monitors and not being able to move around and or re-position myself for contractions was the absolute worst!!  I hope everything goes quickly for you - good luck!

  • I hate the iv. Never had one before. Lol. I'm a baby.
  • It does suck. Ask for pillows to adjust your positioning and see if someone can bring a laptop so you can watch movies. Also magazines, books and crossword puzzles.

It'll be over soon. You just need to get passed right now. Maybe they'll let someone push you around in a wheelchair for a while.

  • You are so close and you will be squishing your baby in no time! Xoxo stay strong mama!
  • Hang in there induction buddy! I'm so hungry!
  • You and I are in the exact same boat! I've been here 18 hours with no progress. Now they're planning a c-section. Thoughts and prayers to you!!
  • Having just gone through induction...I really do feel for you. Sure, staying positive can help...but when your body is not progressing and you're in intense pain...its very hard to keep a positive outlook. And just because you're being induced today doesn't mean you'll have a baby today. Its incredibly rough. I found lying on my side and squeezing the bars of the bed helped me focus and breathe through contractions when I couldnt get out of bed (and we're talking bulb/pitocin contractions here). Hopefully labor goes well for you! Good luck!
  • I was induced last week and didn't think it was that bad at all. Tough it out. Your baby will be here soon

  • Aww hun, try to keep your head high! Your at the finish line, its the end...but its the hardest part of this whole journey IMO.

Sometimes you just gotta get the epi, there is a fine line between cramping ctx pain and epi pain. The hardest part was wanting the epi, asking and then waiting for it to come.
