Breastfeeding clothes

I still only have 1 nursing bra and 1 nursing tank and I'm 3 weeks pp! This is ridiculous. When I leave the house I have to try and find something that gives LO easy access.
Tell me where you have found your favorite nursing clothes.
I'm talking sweatshirts and all.
My boobs, LO, and I thank you!

Re: Breastfeeding clothes

  • I got my nursing bras at Target, otherwise I am just wearing my regular clothes and whipping my boobs out lol

  • Ugh. I am with you! I have two nursing tanks, and five nursing bras. I live in WI and with the cold temps already, I am thinking about the reality of wearing sweatshirts/ sweaters and having to remove an entire layer of clothing to nurse. Boo.

  • I have lacey target nursing bras which I kinda like but the DD is too small and I kinda fall out.  So yesterday I got 2 pea in a pod nursing bras and I dont love those, Im more a demi cup kinda gal.  As for clothes I just wear deep v neck tees and whip it out.  I've also been loving wearing my infinity scarves in leu of using a nursing cover, they work great and its more subtle.

  • I've been able to use a lot of my regular tops if I use my nursing tank. I don't feel so exposed lifting my shirt up when the tank top is covering my tummy.

  • Yeah, I've just been wearing a long sleeved shirt over the tank. Pull outer shirt up, tank down and feed. No need to strip anything off.

  • I just bought nursing bras the other day. As far as tops, I try to find something in my closet that works. Although at this point, I haven't had to nurse in public very often.

  • I mostly wear Maternity tanks with a sweater so that I am covered on my back/side when I lift up my top.

  • I was lucky that quite a few of my maternity tops were also nursing tops (from babies r us and motherhood maternity). I also have a bunch of tank tops/camisoles that are stretchy enough that I can just pull them down to nurse. I'm wearing them under zipper down hoodies since I've been to lazy to get particularly dressed up. For bras, I just got a few stretchy non-underwire bras that I've been pulling down to nurse. I got them pre-baby (at TJ Maxx or Marshalls or something) so I'd have something to get me by until I knew what size I'd need. I still have to go shopping for proper nursing bras but I'm not sure if my boob size is set yet. I might give it a couple more weeks.

  • Target has some nursing tops in the maternity section. I think motherhood probably has the largest selection. Ive just been trying to shop in the regular section and find things that provide easy access

  • I got 4 nursing tanks from motherhood maternity and 4 nursing bras, I pretty much live in the tanks. I literally haven't worn something that didn't open in the front in 3 weeks, it's all zip up jackets, cute sweatshirts and cardigans, I love being able to unzip or unbutton my sweater and pop a boob out of my tank top to feed LO. Truth be told when I'm home I'm usually wearing a bathrobe :-)

  • Motherhood maternity bras are great and I bought a cheapo walmart sports bra that I cut slits into to pump. No nursing tanks just regular shelf tank that I adjusted the straps to be looser.

I did but off of amazon a cute nursing shirt. I find that most nursing shirts are cling to your body type so I tend to buy next size up. I'm thinking I'm going to need to layer with a nursing tank under a button down cardigan thing.
  • My advice is to get a handful of good tanks and to have two good nursing bras.

I have huge boobs. I just got fitted for a new nursing bra today at Nordstrom because I was spilling out of my size F nursing bra. I had to get a 38GG. :/

Anyway, I just like stretchy tanks. They don't have to be actual nursing tanks IMO. My favorite are the one size camisoles you can get in the maternity section at Ross (only some Rosses have maternity sections though) for like six bucks. They are great for wearing under clothes.

I just wear any regular shirt over my tank. I will probably get another bra once I know I like the one I ordered. But I won't get more than two. It's just not worth it IMO. But I don't have a problem wearing them multiple times before washing since its really not good to wash your bras often.
  • I got 4 great nursing tshirts at H&M. They are really flattering and pretty cheap. They come in a 2 pack. I also bought 2 3/4 length shirts at gap that I love too. I wear my bravado body silk seamless bra under the shirts. Then I have nursing camis from H&M and target too.

H&M has nursing stuff?! In store?

  • Wow thanks I'll have to check out H&m!
  • At the Babies r Us near my house all of the Thyme maternity and nursing clothes are 50% off right now... Not too bad! I bought a couple tanks and a nursing sweater for pretty cheap :)
  • So far my favourites have been by the company Boob. I have a nursing tank and this sweater by them:

  • I have a couple of camis and tanks from Motherhood maternity, 2 nursing sports  bras from Motherhood, 2 nursing bras from Target, and 2 longer sleeved nursing tops from Gap.  I love the tops from Gap.  @calibr8te, that sweater from Boob looks awesome!
