Ladies - I am a first time mommy to be - plan on doing a registry this weekend and have NO IDEA what to get and what brands are good - any suggestions on the must haves items and brands that are good??? Many thanks!

I tend to look at brands that are long established or that I've used for my nieces and nephews. Example: carter's for clothing, fisher-price and gund for toys, graco for the portable playpen/sleep area (love those). I also do a cross-check when I like a product to see if the company has any recall notices.

When I was investigating what to put on my registry, I used Amazon.com reviews as a guide. They generally don't steer you too wrong.
