  Did it last time, not doing it this time. It ended up costing me $1,000 out of pocket because I'm low risk and insurance wouldn't cover.

  We haven't done it with either of our children. If you do make sure it's covered by insurance....like the previous poster said...that's a big bill!

  We've done it with both of my other babies and will be doing it again this time. We do it first of all to know if we should do further testing. Second, because it is it the first time we get to see the baby looking/acting like a baby and it really helps my husband connect more with the pregnancy.

  I do want to see the baby right around then. I'll just pay a private u/s place. They're $200 max, much better than $1000.
  
  The u/a was the primary reason I opted for it before

  Got one last time and are getting it done again this time.  DH and I are in the "older" range (he's 37, I'm 36) so the risk is higher and for us it's covered.

  1st u/s 11/26/13 at 7w, measuring right on track and a heartbeat of 139bpm

  NT Scan 1/6/14 at 12w 6d, normal healthy squirmy baby measuring right on track heartbeat of 147bpm

  1st 2nd tri Scan 2/3/14 at 16w 6d, very healthy baby BOY!

  A/S 3/4/14 still a very healthy BOY, measuring right on track!

  If it is covered by my insurance I will do it, but if not I will not do it unless my doctor thinks it is necessaryl

  March 2013: First TTC trip to RE, On 1500 mg Metformin, April 2013:  PCOS and Endometriosis, May 2013:  DH Low volume; Femara 7.5 mg + IUI #1 = BFN, July 2013: Femara 7.5 mg + IUI #2 = BFN, August 2013:  Femara 7.5 mg (X5) + Bravelle (X7) + Ovidrel + IUI #3 + Endometrin = BFP  MC at 5w3d,
  October 2013:  Follistim (X14) + Ovidrel + IUI #4 + Endometrin =BFP!!!

  I'm planning on it but I haven't researched if my insurance covers it and under what conditions. My insurance pays for 100% of prenatal care, so I would think 100% was 100% but you never know with insurance companies.
