Cat owners- baby gates

So I don't know what to do.  We have 3 cats and dd is getting really close to crawling which means we need to get gates soon!  The problem is we live in a 2 story house with a basement. The litter box is in the basement and the cats have free reign of the house.  We need gates for both sets of stairs and ones with small pet openings but I cannot find any that can be screwed in?  Are these safe and could a baby fit through the opening at stairways? What has everyone else done? Maybe I am just overthinking this.

    Cats will be able to jump over a baby gate, right? We will be in the same situation but I think my cats will manage.

    All 3 of my cats are 13 years old and I'm not sure if they will be able to jump over.  The one is also overweight and can hardly jump on the couch half the time-lol.

    I found a baby gate on Amazon with a kitty door. It took a little coaxing to get our cat to through it the first time but after that, she was good.
    It is Carlson brand.

    Is it a pressure mount or the kind you can attach to the wall?

    We have the Carlson pet gates as well-also ordered from Amazon. We have them pressure mounted, but I believe they come with a screw-in option. A quick look at Amazon can confirm this.

    My cats just jump over the gates. It drives me crazy, because they are not supposed to go in her playroom because they knit up her play mats.... grrrrrrrrrrr.

    We have 3 cats and a dog as well.  To allow the cats to pass freely, but keep the dog & baby out, we have 2 types of gates: 1 where the cats just jump over it (which they do just fine) and one with a cat door.  We had to modify the cat door (to make the hole smaller) so the dog and baby couldn't fit through.  We keep the little cat door closed and sawed off two of the vertical bars so it was a smaller space that only they could pass through.  I hope this helps!

    We have three fluffy felines as well. I want them to jump the gates. It will be great exercise for them. But none of my cats are over 5 so they are still pretty nimble.
