Hi everyone. I'm new on here and am hoping for an outlet to post/talk and help others as well.
Four weeks ago, I had a missed miscarriage at 16 weeks. We went to an early gender scan and found out our baby had died at just past 12 weeks. I ended up being induced and delivering our daughter 4 days later but had an emergency d and c a few hours after that when my temperature spiked.
I'm now four weeks out from that and in addition to the emotional turmoil, I'm still bleeding like I have my period (with clots and cramping) . I've called my doctor and gone in twice and all they did was test my hcg levels (they've dropped to not pregnant levels) but no other checks and they keep telling me that bleeding this long "is not totally uncommon and can happen" but I've never heard of it lasting this long and I think I need to find a new doctor. I'm frustrated, my husband is pissed and I just want to at least feel physically normal again
I guess I'm asking if anyone has experienced anything like this or has had to seek out a new doctor for a second opinion.
Re: Second opinion/post-miscarriage TMI
You are most definitely feeling like every sensitive and concerned patient and mom would feel. Have you thought about getting a midwife/doula? I have read that they also specialize in post-pregnancy/ post-partum.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I did not have bleeding for very long after my d&c - but honestly - I think everyone is different. You were also further along than me, so that may make a difference too. If you betas are coming down, that sounds good! If you don't feel like your dr is helpful, then definitely get a second opinion. At least for the peace of mind that everything is okay. I totally understand that you want to feel better. Hope you feel better soon! *hugs*
